Should your driver sit toe up at address?

Since you can adjust the lie angle on some of the drivers out there (including mine), should the toe sit up at address.  I see it a lot on TV (esp the LPGA), I've always tried to have mine sit parallel to the ground.  I've been dialing my driver in lately, and wasn't sure if I should sit it more upright, especially before I put a new grip on (i'm a stickler for it being lined up)...thoughts?

Typically a more upright lie will promote a draw or left bias.  Flatter will promote fade or right bias.  It's just another fitting adjustment so I would base the decision on how you are hitting it.  As always with adjustments YMMV.

The beautiful thing about adjustable drivers is how easy it is to play around with.  Try the different settings and see what works best.  Also if you blow the grip on with air then you can easily adjust it to line up once you decide on a setting.

So you still use tap, but no solutions....just blow air into hole in grip?

I build up with blue painters tape. +4 wraps on standard size grip for me. Then just blow on with air. Shove the nozzle in the hole in the grip and use short bursts while pushing on

When you're looking at your driver, the toe can sit a little high at address.  Remember two things:  First, your hand position at impact will probably be different from address, and that will change the clubhead position.  Also, centrifugal force will tend to make the toe "droop" just a little during the forward swing, so even if your hand position doesn't change, the clubhead will be just a little flatter at impact.  Since you don't have a ast enough camera to see what's really happening, do as GolfSpy Meyer suggests, and make your adjustments based on your ball flight.

I agree with adjusting the driver until you like what you're seeing.

Also Meyer, I got an assortment of accessories for my compressor nozzle including the tip that's ribbed like you had suggested. I'm still going to purchase a clamp device from Golf Works that fits into my vise jaws. Then I'll be good to go.

You will be shocked at easy it is to do the grips with air.

Wouldn't having the driver toe up lower your hands and cause a hook?  When I lower my hands,,,, I hook and when I raise my hands up (which flattens the driver on the ground) I generally fade or push the ball right.

If the driver impacts the ball with the toe up, you're absolutely right.  But its extremely rare for a player's hands at impact to be in exactly the same position they were at address.  If your hands shift upward just one inch at impact, as compared to address, you've "flattened" the shaft by just over one degree. Additionally, the flex of the shaft will "flatten" the clubhead attitude a little too, as compared to the shaft.  That's why any adjustment should be made based on ball flight, not address.

Actually having the toe up was a problem for me. It took two large buckets of balls to figure it out. I have to bring the handle pretty much aiming at my belly button to hit my driver at least somewhat consistently. When those old hands slip slow, off to the left she goes 🏌️

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I have a similar issue with my driver but not exactly the same. If I hold the driver with the toe up at address, I am inconsistent, usually miss with a push fade or push slice. If I hold my driver flatter, then I hit a nice small baby fade with a much stronger ball flight. The handle also ends up pointing at my belly button.

Does height / wrist-to-floor having anything to do with this? My wrist to floor is only 30.5", so holding a 45" driver with the handle pointed at my belt buckle makes the club pretty horizontal.
