Its official. I will be having a procedue on the 9th to correct my irregular heart beat. I'm a little nervous but also excited.

 

SVT clearly impacted my enjoyment of golf this past season. I had to leave the course 3 times with a seriously elevated heart rate once that required a trip to the ER, I was at 208 when I got there.

 

Additionally I canceled several rounds on hot days for fear of an attack. When I play I over hydrate to the point that I'm always looking for the next tree.

 

But that's golf. Far worse I am afraid of an attack every time that I lift my daughter which is 3 or 4 times a day.

 

The procedure is low risk with about a 90 percent success rate.

Most people might not say this but that's good news. The alternative of not taking care of this sounds risky. Yes, I'd have my apprehensions if I were in your shoes. However, it seems almost weekly I see or talk with someone that's had some procedure or another and I'm always amazed at their recovery times. Modern medicine is amazing quite frankly.

 

So Rev... how long after the procedure will you be off the course? Of course I'll be thinking of you and wishing you 100% success.

I had that surgery actually when I was around 18 or so.  Mine was called Wolfe-Parkinson-White.  Basically a SVT.

 

One of the best days of my life after that surgery.  Gonna be like young buck again after you get out

 

It will go well ;)

Modern medicine is so advanced now. My mom is going to have her hip replaced in the next few months and that is an outpatient procedure these days! Crazy!

Best wishes Rev from Martha and I.  We are praying for you.  It's best to get these things done at your young age!  I'd say it's worth about 2-3 strokes per round just not worrying about it anymore!!

My Mom had this issue and they fixed her with a pace maker and she could dance a gig up until she was 93 years old.

 

We'll be praying for a successful result and get you back on the course kicking booty before you know it !

Rev, I hope, but am sure all will go well!  Funny that I had that episode with you on the Stadium a couple of years ago on that really hot day, but fortunately nothing at all since, even on much hotter days.  Expect you to be out there swinging soon and maybe able to swing through your area for a game sometime towards the end of March!  

Nonchalant putts count the same as chalant putts.

Hey Rev, you know you are in my prayers. My wife has an irregular heart beat but they settled it down with a blocker and ranitidine. I am sure that your procedure will be successful and I can't wait to get you on the course at the end of March.
