I'm thinking about going away in April, maybe Houston area or South utah. Wondering if anyone else has any golf trips planned this year?

I doubt I'll be able make it happen. But I'd love to get down to Texas.

Heading over to Georgia first of next month. There's an annual tournament in a town called Augusta. Anybody heard of it? Before that me a few guys are playing 3 rounds at Reynolds Plantation.

Haven't heard of an Augusta tournament. Is that a local amateur tournament around our near Augusta National hence the name? Makes sense holding it close to the Masters time I guess to get interest for the area.

Our group is heading down into Mississippi in May to play the Dancing Rabbit courses with a stop in Grenada to play it on the way down.

Not sure where the fall trip will be, probably back in the Nashville area.

Dancing Rabbit is actually on a Indian Reservation and there are two large hotel/casino complexes. There is actually a cat walk between the two casinos.  Pretty cool place!

Daughter has a dance competition in Myrtle Beach July 1-7th.  My son and i are planning on playing 2-3 times.

Doral at the end of March, Atlantic City in April, Pebble Beach again in October and Sea Island for the RSM Classic in November.  My wife had also mentioned a trip to Florida in early December that I am sure I can find a way to play some golf.

I just got back from a week at Edisto Beach Saturday.  Played The Plantation Course at Edisto several times with my daughter.  Although they are still recovering from hurricane Matthew, the course was in great shape.  We had gorgeous weather.  Mid to upper 70's every day and lower 60's for overnight lows.

 

My first experience playing on paspalum so that took some getting used to.

I'm headed to Palm Springs this week. We stay on Terra Lago so we'll play both courses there and probably get out to PGA West one day

Southern Utah has some AWESOME golf. I'd highly recommend a stop here.

Usually meet up with a few members down in the Memphis area to play a few rounds. Been trying to get us together to play Mirimichi one day and Tunica the next. Always a scheduling issue with someone in the group.

Yes it is. It is on the Poarch Creek reservation. I go down there about once a year for meetings and get to play Dancing Rabbit. Really cool if you can stay in one of the villas on the course.

My dad lives down there so it's nice to get away and see him and head to the course. I fly out tomorrow. Looking forward to it!

 

I also have a trip to OBX in May, we usually play once or twice while there. It's always a blast! I also have a trip in the works for August that may equal some golf. Not sure yet. The big one that's brewing is possibly a trip to Bandon next Spring/Summer to play. Nothing for sure yet, but I'm drooling over the thought!

Spent last week in Orlando with some buddies and played 5 really nice tracks - Waldorf, Celebration, Mission Inn Las Colinas, Mission Inn El Campeon, and Grand Cypress New Course.

 

I've played Waldorf several times.  Nice track but typical, over-priced resort course...nothing really special about it.

 

Celebration was a fun course to play.  Really good condition all around and definitely some challenging holes for a shorter course.

 

Mission Inn was amazing!!  Beautiful courses, exceptional conditions and some of the most challenging holes I've ever played in my life on both courses (particularly El Campeon).  I'd play those again in a heart beat.

 

Grand Cypress New was a blast.  Very old world, St Andrews feel, which obviously Jack Nicklaus was going for when he helped design it.  It was pretty authentic when we played there too because the wind was gusting around 20-25 mph.  It was deceiving because it's so open you think the course will be a cake walk.  The greens, however are very tough.  Hard to gauge the speed and there were some mysterious breaks that none of us saw in a lot of putts.  Plus, get on the wrong side of the green and you're in big trouble.  I actually posted my worst score of the weekend at the New Course, which was extremely frustrating.  That said, I'd absolutely play there again.
