I need help identifying these MacGregor Irons

So, I have a set of these irons from 2-10. They have been reshafted, so the original ferrules are gone. I think that they might have been someones Tourney Personals...  The Muscle looks very much like the VIP shape.

Maybe??  The lack of stamping on the face is odd for older Mac irons...  No diamonds or anything..

Looks more like a version of VIP's.

Look very similar to the my Dads OLD SCHOOL VIP's ,  but his has "By Nicholas stamped" on the back

Leads me to believe that they are somebody's Personals...   I remember back in the Early 2000's, you could fly back to GA and go through a 3 day custom fitting and grinding session at the factory. Pick your head shape, toe shape, sole grind ect....

I tend to agree but getting a peek at the deuce and the PW would really help determine whether it's set of PMBs from a GA factory fit experience. Neato either way!

Very similar to the VIPs but I think they all had the diamonds on the face.  MacGregor did a Jack Nicklaus Personal Model that looks like this with Jack's autograph on the muscle and no diamonds.  I tend to agree that they could be that personal model for someone else.

Not PMBs but I think they are custom. Guessing they didn't pass QC (groove job on the 10i & deuce sole stamp is off center)? Possibly originally intended for a tour player, but never finished after reject. Unless you tried to re-groove them yourself?

Negative..  I did notice that the grooves are a little off on a few of the clubs...  I would never try and "re-groove" irons..  just a waste of time..

Apologies if you thought I was pointing fingers. But somebody probably did some post-OEM digging into the groove bed on that 10i. I'm enjoying the mystery and wracking the memory bank for solid info.

Macgregor only worked ~40 sets of "Tourney Forged Personals" a year out of the Albany, GA facility, so they are incredibly rare. I can't imagine a good enough reason to ever part with a personalized set of TFPs.

Played with these this weekend..  Had to play the front 9 twice as my JetSki was in for repair..  +3, +3 for a +6 total of 80.  Not too shabby.  Issues are that I have no idea how far they are going.  At all..  This led to several 40-70 foot 3 putts.  I think that with enough time spent on the course and range, they could work out nicely..

Might want to give those wrenches a check up on the loft/lie machine. The loft gaps in soft forgings can get a little loose with multiple owners over the course of 20 years.

Specd them out before taking them to the course..  10 iron is 46°, 9 is 42° ect...   2 iron is 19°...  The lofts are a little close in the longs, as to be expected.  I hit the 10 iron and my 50° SCOR nearly the same.  Just need to spend some time on a course that is not waterlogged.
