If you like blueberries you have to try it.  I have found beer is a great cool down but doesn't always quench my thirst. These lemonade infused drinks quench while hydrating.

Tito’s and pomegranate with a splash of 7up/sprite is an on course fav for me.  Tough to find pomegranate on the course though.

I'd say my goto summertime drink is a brandy old fashioned sweet. Or if you're in a Wisconsin supper club, an Old Fashioned. Apparently the rest of the country makes it with bourbon. Who knew?

That was my response. I had tried this OTR old fashioned before, but this time I jazzed it up with a little extra bourbon, 2 teaspoons of the maraschino cherry liquid and 5 or 6 drops of Aztec chocolate bitters. 

Very tasty giant vat of mostly alcohol.

I’m a big Jameson drinker. The IPA comes from their IPA caskmates edition which finished Jameson Irish whiskey in ipa barrels. Pairs nicely with citrus so a sour was an easy choice. The grapefruit I just had on hand haha

I like Jameson.... 12 year old. Not a big fan of the 'regular' stuff.

Should it be standard practice for beverage carts to carry the ingredients for a transfusion? (Vodka/Tequila, Grape Juice, Ginger Ale)

I have found some courses only have club soda or some others don't carry juice at all. I personally think that transfusions have taken the world by storm, at least my world! My thoughts are that it should be standard practice.

Bonus points for the funniest response received when asking for one, I'll go first: "We have cranberry juice and sprite, does that work?"

It would be nice if the carts started carrying more of that stuff. I have asked quite a few times at different courses and they didn't know what I was talking about. The vodka/tequila and ginger ale is a no brainer that they should have but the juice is definitely out there and not common. Hopefully with enough requests they will start carrying it.

Ill add my 2 cents to this forum as well. The course I commonly play has the Spiked Arnold Palmer's. They are very good, light, and refreshing. Thats what I usually go to for on the course. I'm a big Hazy IPA drinker as well which is dangerous since many craft breweries here in the twin cities make really good Hazys.

I also dabble a bit on the old-fashioned train in the colder months. My "secret" to a really good one is Demerara simple syrup and i usually team it with Keepers Heart American/Irish Bourbon. For $50ish it's a real good bourbon and made locally here in MN.

Transfusions are the BOMB!  Like them so much I bought the Barstool Transfusion driver headcover.  Yeah, I’m a dork, but I couldn’t help myself.  
 

My backyard course here in St. Cloud Florida, Royal St. Cloud Golf Links, keeps the ingredients on the cart!!!

I had an old Scottish friend, Doug Dalziel, from Carnoustie who served some of his apprenticeship in Bermuda in the 1950's at The Mid Ocean Club for Archie Compston.   Archie was an accomplished match-play player in the Gene Sarazen, Bobby Jones and Walter Hagen era.

Apparently, Archie enjoyed a Gin Buck or two over lunch and sometimes more throughout the afternoon.  My friend Doug and Archie were having lunch at the club one day when a hotel guest came up to their table and interrupted them to say that he had a lesson scheduled in a few minutes.  Archie asked him what he played off and the man responded that he played off an eight handicap.  In a gruff British accent, Archie told him to go down to warm up at the practice area and he would be along momentarily, but not before freshening his Gin Buck.

Archie then went down to the practice tee to watch the man, and after a few shots, he asked him again what he played to - the man repeated that he played off an eight handicap.  A few more shots were struck and Archie asked if he heard the man correctly, that he played off an eight - the man shook his head yes.  Then, in his gruff British accent Archie said, "You must be a great ****!ng putta!"

The story inspired me to learn what a Gin Buck was and once I did, it became my favorite Summer cocktail.  If you try them, be aware that they go down easily because they are so refreshing.  Feel free to tell the Archie Compston story as you have a second round of Gin Bucks with your foursome!

Here's some history of the Gin Buck from Tim Nusog @ Liquor.com....

The Gin Buck, of course, calls for gin. The simple, sweet and bubbly drink was a popular summer cooler during the Roaring ’20s and into the ’40s. Today, the Gin Buck is overshadowed by whiskey-based bucks and Moscow Mules, but it deserves a place on your to-drink list, especially when the weather’s warm and you want a quaffable option for drinking outdoors.

Despite its simplicity, the Gin Buck still offers opportunities to be tailored to your tastes. Start with the gin. A drier bottle that predominately showcases juniper will provide a different experience than one that is softer with more citrus. Then there’s the ginger. Ginger beer is spicier and bolder than ginger ale and more akin to what people were drinking a century ago. Both options make tasty cocktails, so try both to see which you prefer.

Finally, you need fruit. Lemon and lime juice work great, so again it comes down to personal preference. Match your garnish to your juice, and you’re done. Fortunately, the delicious Gin Buck in your hand is easy to replicate, should you require a refill or receive jealous glances from thirsty friends.

GIN BUCK Ingredients

1 1/2 ounces gin

1/2 ounce lemon or lime juice, freshly squeezed

Ginger ale or ginger beer, to top

Garnish: lemon or lime wedge

Steps

Fill a Collins glass with ice, then add the gin and lemon or lime juice.

Top with ginger ale (or ginger beer) and stir briefly to combine.

Garnish with a lemon or lime wedge.

If you had to choose between these two bottles for a special occasion, which one would you choose?  I have both bottles and just wanting feed back on which one is better for multiple people.  The choices are Weller 12 or Blantons Gold.  Lets hear which one you would have for a special occasion.

I think Weller 12 is better and more drinkable for a wide range of palates, personally.

Currently on a lager kick with warmer temperatures although hazies have become a go to. I'm currently drinking a homemade pilsner that I bottled a few weeks ago. Plan is to brew only to fill as opposed to brewing as much as I can until I run out of room.

Had the pleasure of sampling my first ever old fashioned in December and loved it. So I bought all the stuff to make it myself and I have to say...I did a piss-poor job at it! I've not tried to make another one since, but really need to bite the Bulleit (see what I did there?) and try again very soon!

 As part of my group of guys that I golf with, a few beers or mixed drinks are part of a good weekend. I always carry a flask in my bag. My wife bought the flask for me as a gift/ collector's item. I am a funeral director by trade and the flask says embalming fluid. I normally keep Crown Royal Vanilla in the flask, just a little nip if needed to relax and not kill the ball and the joke goes that after you kill the ball you need some embalming fluid.  Recently a friend and I went to Laughlin, NV for a week of golf, gambling, and getting out of the frigid(ish) ND weather. While we were there my buddy introduced me to 805 Cerveza. If you've never had this beer, it is an awesome light lager brewed with lime. It was a nice refreshing beer, perfect for the golf course and the hopefully warm weather that we should be getting. Enjoy your time at on the course and the 19th hole my friends and do yourself a favor and get a sober ride!

I didn't know transfusions were a mixed drink. I've only seen the cans.

Love Royal St. Cloud - that's our warmup round course for the golf trip each year. But I don't recall ever seeing a cart on the course (January trip).
