I'm a huge fan of both these brewers so I can't wait to try anything they've worked on together.

Big fan of the Dogfish NNN Minute hopped IPAs, but have not tried anything from The Bruery .. yet..?

Do like those "Ridiculous" names!

Bruery Terreux is out of Anaheim Ca.  Their specialty is sours and hot damn are they some of the best of that category I've ever had.

Closest I've gotten to a sour so far - sorry, Dave! - is Lagunitas' "Aunt Sally" which they descibe as...

"A unique dry-hopped sweet tart sour mash ale"

Hmmm. Lots of stuff going on there and definitely a "unique" flavor, but cannot say I was too crazy about it...

I've mentioned before I'm a big fan of the microbrew craft beer movement .. even tho I don't like many of the currently popular "citrus", "fruit" or "floral styles .. but you get a chance to randomly explore new offerings...

You look on the shelves at the distributor and you see quite a colorful profusion of very creative label art!

These aren't all new-to-me; eg. I've had Jai Alai and Massive before, and other beers from Spider Bite and Flying Dog.

A couple are new and are local including "Green Room", second from the left, where the label can be peeled from the thin aluminum can, and looks like...

And, yeah, it's pretty tasty

OK, it's not Thursday... so What??  I'm old and forget what day it is half the time!!

A new beer for me from an old haunt...  Mcmenamin's in Corvallis, OR  Across the street from the Chemistry Building at Oregon State University where I spent 4 years back in the 1960's.  At the time it was a coffee/donut shop where I hung out before classes.

They were out of my usual quaffer, their Irish Stout.  I talked with the Brewmaster, and he said I should try this new Brown.  I did.  I think this may be my new goto except on St. Patrick's Day.

 

Stir It Up Smoked Brown (Nitro)

The Cherrywood Smoked Brown is sure to provide a unique drinking experience.  You'll be met by smoked malt flavor which quickly fades to a smooth and clean finish.  A small amount of hops were used to give this beer a slight bitterness that doesn't overpower the malt profile.  This beer is perfect for a quiet night by the fire, so little darlin' Stir It Up and enjoy!

Malts: 2-Row, Crystal 40, Kiln Coffee Malt, Chocolate Malt, Victory, Cherrywood Smoked Malt

Hops:  US Golding, Cascade

ABV:  5.42   IBU:   35

OK another Thursday and there have been some new brews .. but I've been updating on Untappd, tho, vs in here...

They have been some pretty good new brews, but none really exceptional worth shouting out about........

Maybe next week!
