Indoor Simulator

HighFade

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am buying a house soon, and will be putting in a full swing simulator. Just don't know which one I want. Any reviews already on MGS, or anyone have one they like or don't like?

Thanks

A couple things you need to decide on first.  What's your budget?  Do you want something you can take outdoors or just always leave it set up?  Do you want a full sim with courses or just a range?  Do you want fitting level numbers or just pretty accurate and fun?  Will you be having many lefty's over to play?

Good questions.

More for fun and winter, courses would be an extra

Won't go outside

No lefties allowed!

Budget TBD, but let's start with under 3k

No suggestions here. I'll be following your journey to see what you end up with. Your budget sounds in line with what I'd probably consider too.

Personally, I think if I were in the market it'd be for a combo type of setup. That being range-courses... and good data. I wouldn't be interested if all the thing would do is spit out numbers all day. I want to have some fun too.

Good luck with it.

Personally I'd be looking at Skytrak in that situation.  They have crappy customer service, but the product works great and they continually release updates to make it better.  You can get simulator software for it and have courses as well.  There are plenty of reviews both positive and negative out there.  But in that price range I think it's about as good as it gets at the moment.

All that said I know I have a lot to learn when it comes to sims so more research would be recommended.

Also I'm jealous!

I have the Optishot 2 because that's what I could afford. Built a swing cage in my garage and I enjoy it. It is pretty accurate and matches swing speed to the PGA simulators I play leagues at. It is glitchy with the driver and fairway woods, but some masking tape and calibration fix that in minutes. The Optishot also has tournaments where you can play people around the world

Well, I've down quite a bit of research, and have decided on the SkyTrak. I will most likely go with the Pro version, that includes the larger impact screen and will add a projector. The total

cost will be right around 5k, but I will use the heck out of it, especially in colder months. And I think I can get Mrs HighFade to play more ok it too.

Now I just have to find a house with the room!
