TESTERS ANNOUNCED: PING Glide 2.0 Wedges

Recommended Posts

Robert Franks

Columbus, OH

Strength: Short chips pitches around the green

Weakness: 1/2 to 3/4 wedge shots. Always seem to dead pull these types of shots. Also have a tough time hitting a high, soft bunker shot

Set: 50*SS, 54*TS, 58*TS   All wedges +1/2" AWT 2.0 Wedge

Would love to get my hands on these wedges for some testing! Playing in the US Open local qualifier in May so if these could help my game, I'm all for it!

Bunker and short game, on most days, are a strength. However, midrange 100 yards or less are a challenge. I've been in search for wedges that allow me to improve my half to full wedge shot game. I'd be very excited to give these a go and see if I can finally find a good fit for my game!

50/SS/12*, 54/SS/12*, 58/SS/10*. Purple. CFS Wedge Shaft. Standard length. Ping Dyla-Wedge White.

Strength: Full wedge shots

Weakness: 60ish yards and in, particularly from tight lies. Often fat

Set: 50/54/58 ss

I'm looking to potentially move on from the Hogan TK wedges I have now. I just have not been able to really get used to the sole design.

Geoff

Trinity, FL

Strength: full and half wedge shots

Weakness: sand, chipping around the green

Set: 52*SS, 56*WS, 60*TS All wedges +1" CFS Graphite (to match my Ping G's)

This would be an awesome chance to test the 2.0's. I currently game the G's as irons, and would love to see if the wedges have as much an impact on my game as the irons.

I am a very good bump and run player. I struggle with higher lofted wedges when trying to hop and stop them on the green. I am better at imagining the roll of the ball rather trying to fly and stop it close to the pin. I also could improve out of bunkers.

I would play 50/SS, 54/SS, and 58/ES. With standard length True Temper s300 shafts and MCC plus 4 grips.

Strength: short chips up to half shots

Weakness: anywhere from a half shot to full shots with my wedges. Tend to lose distance because I hit them too high.

Set: 52*SS, 56*TS, 60*TS black dot all wedges in KBS tour stiff shaft.

White dyla wedge grips.

Thought about getting new wedges this year and was going to go with some new Callaway wedges but these might help me change my mind.

Short game strengths: like green side bunker shots- shorter splash shots specifically. The right bounce is very important to me for these bunker shots.  I'm a good 12 feet+ putter- make a decent amount of longer putts.  Good lag putter on longer distances.

Weaknesses: sometimes the 70-100 yard wedge shots balloon on me.  I want more of a low-piercing flighted shot.  I like to come in a bit lower with a one-bounce and stop shot.

I'm looking for the following in right-handed:

56-SS

60-SS

KBS Tour Reg. Shaft in both.

Thanks!

Andy
