dru_
I did that years ago before spikeless shoes came on the scene. They are certainly comfy, but I tended to break out the sides. I guess I needed more lateral support, but that was before my swing change. They might work better now. Keep in mind, I run in a VERY wide toe box, barefoot style shoe. I actually have two different soles that I use based upon conditions. If it's going to be soft out, I use https://www.vivobarefoot.com/us/mens/off-road/primus-trail-sg-mens?colour=Black/Red Otherwise I use: https://www.vivobarefoot.com/us/mens/off-road/primus-trail-fg-mens?colour=Black/Charcoal Dru - Owner, President & Janitor, Druware Software Designs RH 13.1 Handicap in soggy Georgia WITB * 1W 10.5* @ PXG 0211 ( HZRDUS Smoke Black X-Stiff ) * 3W PXG 0211 ( HZRDUS Smoke Black X-Stiff ) * 5W 18* Tailor-made AeroBurner ( Stock Stiff ) * 7W Sub70 949x ( HZRDUS Smoke Black X-Stiff ) * 5i-PW @ PXG 0211 ( Gen 1 ) * 52 @ Hogan Equalizer * 56 @ Sub70 * 60 @ Hogan Equalizer * Carbon Ringo 1/4 * Vice Pro Plus
Golfspy_CG2
I've been a spikeless guy the past 5 years at least. Primarily, Puma, Ecco, Nike and FootJoy. The best have been Puma-Monolite and now the Ignite, and Sport Next best were Nike Lunar, was my everyday shoe, on and off the course for over a year. Eccos were good and bad, Biom hybrds were great, anything else has been disappointing FootJoy, Pro/SL are very comfy! dang3rtown
Living in California, I play in two conditions most of the time; dry and extra dry. I get much better traction and comfort with spikeless. Smalls1588
Spikeless is a great route to go on warm, dry days. But up north that is often not the case and, having a fast swing speed, I tend to slip a little on the tee box. Consensus, good to have a pair in the rotation for comfort but I prefer spikes. jhellrung
Was curious on what a consensus might be on Spikeless or not. Thinking of trying some and the issue seems to be wear. Of course comfort and stability is the thing and from reviews that seems attainable, but parking lot to course and on concrete is where spikes wear out for the most part anyway. Just wondering what luck people might have had with Spikeless holding up to this kind of wear. Thanks. I'm spikeless and plan so stay so, it has done wonders for my back. Canucklehead
I always wore spikes until 2 summers ago when it got really dry the last couple months of the season. They both have their pros and cons but I wear both no problem. My general rule is if it's really dry, spikeless; or if it's really wet I put the spikes on. Shankster
Adidas Gripmore are definitely the best spikeless system I've used. They provide a ton of grip and are the only spikeless shoes I'd wear in the morning dew or in the rain I'll second that. I have the adicross V's and they provide a very solid platform, plenty of traction. They even come in brown like I want, just with those pesky white stripes. You can find the discontinued colors at a serious discount if you keep your eyes open. Crashtestdummy
All the courses around my area are all spikeless. The greens are in better shape because of spikeless. I just wonder if more courses will allow spikes again if USGA changes rules to allow spike marks to be repaired. I haven't used spikes in decades. Haha. Not sure if spikes would help my golf, hurt or injury my body because of the inability for the shoe to slip. I feel like it is possible I could get some injuries because of spikes but it may improve my golf.
