Spikeless?

Alright, I have Puma's with spikes.. I live the Seattle area.. Half the year i need Flippers.. But anyhow..

The absolute best is to golf barefoot.. Only real problem is broken tees.. you would not believe how much better your balance gets.. and getting the feel for the green.. until too many drinks..

There is a resort up here that has 9 hole right on the Columbia river that get sun most of the year.. NO shoes No shirt No problem.. they even let you take your own Refreshments, anything you want and as much as you want..

the sun, golf, lots of beverages.. and not really a dress code.. ;) I'm in ALL summer long..

Barefoot wouldn't work here in northern Ohio with all of the Canada geese we have!

I've always been spikeless, but I walk about 80% of the time. I just invested in a pair of the Adipower Boost 3 and they are super comfy. I like being able to golf, then go out my business afterwards, running errands and such, without changing shoes.

Resisted for a while as I tend to be pretty traditional. Finally bought a pair of gray Nike Lunar Mont Royals. Absolutely fantastic. Comfortable. Perfect grip on wet conditions. Looking for another pair in all white.

Those are amazing aren't they. They were my everyday work shoe for over a year. They are very light for how much support they give.

I have a pair of 2 year old Puma Faas Lites waterproof spikeless shoes and a pair of greenjoys from FootJoy. I honestly love the Pumas and have only worn the FootJoys out once, when I first got them. I am definitely a spikeless fan.

Living in California, I play in two conditions most of the time; dry and extra dry. I get much better traction and comfort with spikeless. FWIW, I always walk, no carts so foot comfort matters to me quite a bit.

Spikeless is a great route to go on warm, dry days. But up north that is often not the case and, having a fast swing speed, I tend to slip a little on the tee box. Consensus, good to have a pair in the rotation for comfort but I prefer spikes.

Was curious on what a consensus might be on Spikeless or not.

Thinking of trying some and the issue seems to be wear.

Of course comfort and stability is the thing and from reviews that seems attainable, but parking lot to course and on concrete is where spikes wear out for the most part anyway. Just wondering what luck people might have had with Spikeless holding up to this kind of wear.

Thanks.

I'm spikeless and plan so stay so, it has done wonders for my back. Shoes are so nice i wear them to work.

I always wore spikes until 2 summers ago when it got really dry the last couple months of the season. They both have their pros and cons but I wear both no problem. My general rule is if it's really dry, spikeless; or if it's really wet I put the spikes on.

Adidas Gripmore are definitely the best spikeless system I've used. They provide a ton of grip and are the only spikeless shoes I'd wear in the morning dew or in the rain

I'll second that. I have the adicross V's and they provide a very solid platform, plenty of traction. They even come in brown like I want, just with those pesky white stripes. You can find the discontinued colors at a serious discount if you keep your eyes open. I used them all last season and they still are like new.

All the courses around my area are all spikeless. The greens are in better shape because of spikeless. I just wonder if more courses will allow spikes again if USGA changes rules to allow spike marks to be repaired.

I haven't used spikes in decades. Haha. Not sure if spikes would help my golf, hurt or injury my body because of the inability for the shoe to slip. I feel like it is possible I could get some injuries because of spikes but it may improve my golf.

I'm with you on this! I did find a happy medium with the Adidas Asym Boost far more grip from a "spikeless" though it looks like they have spikes, just can't replace them.

Too wet and soggy sometimes out here in the Pacific NW.

I've also been rocking the gripmore adicross since it's inception and could not be happier!! By far the best shoe I've had in a long while and I liked them so much I bought them in all three colors offered at the time!! They have the "2nd gen" out now and I believe it might be time to add to the collection.

Primarily ashworth Cardiff or Ecco Biom Hybrids here. Love them both. Very comfortable. I do have some spiked shoes for wet days because you just can't beat the traction of spikes when it's wet. But if it's dry I'll be spikeless all day. No turning back
