Best golf umbrellas?

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I've had a nautica umbrella that I've used for golf that's finally about had it. Been looking at Ping models, only because I'm pretty brand loyal (Ping clubs, Nike apparel.) anyone tried any good generic brand golf umbrellas out there?

Our golf store had TaylorMade Burner umbrellas on sale BOGO about 10 years ago, so I got two for my wife and I; she plays Burner irons.  Since I live in the desert, they don't get a lot of use for rain, but I do use them for sun and they still look good.

My feeling is that probably most every golf umbrella is pretty good, and will last quite awhile if you take care of it.  Get whatever looks good to you.

Just about any of the major brands will be fine. One thing I recommed is getting s double canopy as opposed to single. It will help reduce the wind blowing it out of control.

I also went a bit larger wirh my most recent one, at 68" vs 60 on my last one.

Recently I picked up a UV blocker umbrella from Costco and needless to say I'm pretty impressed.

Carolina Golfer recommended a double canopy umbrella, and I agree.  If you're playing on a windy day, the "vents" make it impossible to invert when a gust gets underneath the umbrella.  I have a Gust Buster, and its served me well, but there a number of other brands that do the double canopy.

As long as it's a gustbuster design, I've liked them all.  Usually get them to match the bag.
