Hey there! My name is Paul and I'm a 7.8 from Los Angeles. I have not used a GPS watch in the past but I have used the GolfShot app to track my shots. I'd love to the try the Skycaddie because the shot tracking on the Golfshot app doesn't give you the information you need for improvement. I'd like some more useful data. I have used a fitness tracker in the past, but after the initial excitement wore off, it went back into the desk drawer.

Seth

I shoot over 100 generally ha

I use a golf gps on my phone that gives me ranges.

Never used a gps watch. Might be neat

I know what club I need to hit depending on the range. If the range is right I can mostly get it where I want it to go.

Would give a detailed description of my use. I golf once a week.

This is Mark, a professional club fitter and club builder from the Pittsburgh area; current home USGA index is 1.5 (2016), winter handicap in Florida is 6.1; have used a Garmin Approach S1 GPS watch for several years now (very simple and easy to use), backed up by a Callaway/Nikon Laser Rangefinder; never used any shot tracking.

(Full disclosure, I posted this on GolfWRX as well.)

For those who use SkyCaddie Mobile Premium, I've recently bought the GT2 w/ SCM Premium and went out and played a round today.  When I hit "Play Golf", I only got the option to score my game, no visuals whatsoever.  The course I was on is listed as having "Intelligreen" and "QuickVue".  I'm simply trying to determine if I did something wrong or if courses with QuickVue don't show any mapping during the round.

To build on that, I'm assuming then that none of my tagged shots with GameTracker were stored too?

      Thanks,
      Chappy

P.S. I did an online chat with a SkyGolf rep who told me that QuickVue courses should absolutely show mapping in the SCM Premium app.  When I stated they don't, he sent me instructions on how to "learn" the smart tags.  SMH.  Thanks for nothing.

      (4) Testers Wanted!!

      TomTom Golfer 2 GPS Watch

So, just how much does a golf GPS watch really need to do?

Front, middle and back distance to the green is a given. But what about distance to a hazard? Or distance to clear a hazard?

      Scorekeeping? Calorie counting?

What about shot tracking and stat keeping?

      Testers Wanted:

TomTom, a longtime GPS giant, says its new Golfer 2 GPS Watch can do all of these, and that you won't need a degree in quantum physics to figure out how to use it.

MyGolfSpy's mission is to separate performance fact from marketing hype, and we want four of you to help us test out the new TomTom Golfer 2 GPS watch. Does it serve the most basic of GPS functions, and how well do all of these newfangled features really work?

      How To Apply:

TomTom is providing MyGolfSpy with four Golfer 2 watches for our readers to test and review (and keep). We take our product testing pretty seriously at MyGolfSpy, so please read the instructions very carefully:

      - If you haven't already, you must join the MyGolfSpy Community Forum (click here to register).

      - In this thread, please tell us your first name, state or province, and current handicap

      Pretty easy, huh?

We'll be announcing the testers in this space next week.  Good luck!
