What irritates me a bit is the logos on some of these Pros.

If they get any more endorsements their going to look like NASCAR drivers.

I know they have to make a buck but a few guys may have a few too many.

Just my biased old fart opinion.

We need another Arnie. I've been reading up and watching a bunch of stuff from his younger days. The dude was for the fans through out his entire career, and truly cared about golf and what was happening in and around it.

Your right but not going to happen. Different world.

Americans that came out of the depression & WWII had an entirely different outlook of the world and their place in it.

I gurantee you today's round  at the Travelers Championship will show some personality with Boo Weekly in the final pairing with Speith. Boo is my favorite golfer on tour and I'd give my left one to tee it up with that old boy.

Boo just jarred a greenside bunker shot 4 birdie on the 7th. Ironically that the green we volunteered at every year when we lived in CT.

I think personality is alive and well amongst the pros.

The one thing that's missing IMO, not just in golf but in most sports nowadays, is rivalries. These guys are all friends and all of them making money hand over fist, so might as well shrug your shoulders, clap extra hard for the guy who won and put on a good face.

It'd be nice to see a little bad blood. Get these guys a little more passionate about winning, or beating the other guy. Instead of guys like Durant folding up and joining their rival, have him elevate his own team. Instead of Phil clapping and giving Rose the thumbs up while he's killing him at the Ryder Cup, have him acknowledge the shot then one up him.

The Rory-Reed match was great for that reason; those guys were elevating their game because they wanted it that much more. Yeah they were friendly but still giving it to each other. Would love to see more of that.

Couldn't agree more. I think what I forgot sometimes is that a lot of these "guys" R still kids. At mid 20's I was still dam immature.

According to wife and kids still am.

I don't think i ever saw him that excited. Jordan throwing the club and Greller throwing the rake at the same time and the running chest bump was pretty cool to see. That was pure excitement.

Everyone's bro's... you're right. 100%, a little "drama" if you will... would spice things up. Heck even Arnie and Jack when paired together was strictly business.

If I were Daniel Berger yesterday, I would have stared down my putt and not move after JS dunked a sand bucket.... it was a playoff hole. When I missed then I would have congratulated him.

I think a lot of these guys grew up together playing golf and hanging out. Hard to just flip a switch on a childhood friend. Doesn't bother me one bit if they are genuinely happy for each other. I don't think any of them are rolling over and letting their friend win

Yeah, I get that. It doesn't seem like they care about competition. I know my group of friends would be poker faced till the score cards were signed. I guess everyone wins, and everyone is happy. They are all going to party afterwards no matter who wins...

I'll start watching the Champions Tour.

You and I are similar in age and I think it is just a generational thing because I was the same way competitively growing up. We can be the "get off my lawn" guys, lol

Hogan and Nelson grew up together, were friends, but had a healthy rivalry. For a long time, those guys were playing just trying to make a living so maybe the differences in earnings, popularity of the sport, etc. explain it.

Being happy for a guy is one thing, but I don't get it when it's during match play and the guy you're happy for is giving you a beat down. But even the RC has turned into guys from different country clubs in FL playing against each other.
