So, for a $500 driver you make $30/month payments for a year and after you pay $360, you can pay to send it back and get another one and start paying all over again.  Ingenious!  

 

EDIT:  And TM can cancel the program at any time without notice!!

More consumer debt...the American way! For the same reason I don't kick cans down roads, I would never recommend a program like this. But I'm sure folks will be hopping up like frogs to the slow boil slaughter.

No kidding. And at the register they'll offer to roll in 2-doz balls, shoes, a bag, and 24 month product protection insurance or some nonsense like that. I mean heck... it'll only add a couple more bucks to yeh muntly payment. LOL

Why not wait 6 mos after introduction and pay about 299 and you can keep the driver. So far you're $61. Ahead. Now trade it in at GG OR PGASS and get $75-100 for it. Now your $131. - $160 ahead.

 

This sounds like a last ditch effort by a company that is bleeding.

 

Note this is not a statement on the quality of the equipment but rather this plan.

Your EDIT: if this does not work for TM, they will be able to exit the program.

But you are still stuck with the payments because the loan is with another company, but then you can't upgrade anymore.

Call me old fashioned but I hate any type of debt or payments.  If you can't afford it, then you don't need it.

Considering that driver distance hasn't improved much since about 10 years ago, TMade screwed themselves by going to a multi-product cycle and less then a one-year shelf life. They made so much product over the last ten years that it flooded the market with junk and devalued their brand. Look at all the most stable club companies and they have one product platform per release cycle (Callaway has two lines but they don't hurt each other). "Leasing" golf clubs is ridiculous and playing with one before it is paid off is so risky for consumer and manufacturer. TMade just continues to flounder and is grasping at straws.

This is a really good idea to help to go after a very specific segment of the market and locks in repeat customers

For the "Gotta have 'em" crowd that wants the newest.

 

I see it as the Apple method/ approach. It'll be an interesting beta test to watch.

Seriously though, what if everyone was smart enough to take that approach. Our economy would be so much stronger with no personal debt and more skilled trades (less of this "go to college" crap they push). I went to college for 5 years and left with a mortgage payment and won't ever use my degree.
