Hello from West Texas

Happy to be apart of the MGS forum. Ive been playing golf since I was about 5 years old. My grandmother loved the game and would take me to the local 9 hole course and let me hit range balls as a kid. Later my dad picked up the game and we would play just about every week. I am naturally left handed but always played with hand-me-down clubs so I learned to play golf right handed.

I was down to around a 1 handicap a couple of years ago but I fell and injured my shoulder so I had been dealing with the injury as best I could but started to get a weak arm and pain/numbness down into my fingers when swinging so I decided to take a break from the game last fall and have shoulder surgery back in early December. Turns out that was a good idea as I had torn my bicep tendon almost completely in half at the shoulder. They were able to drill a hole in my bone and reattach the bicep and clean up the tears in my labrum. After 4 months of physical therapy I am finally swinging the club again and was able to play 9 holes last week for the first time. I shot a 39 which I was completely pumped about given all that i went through to get back to swinging again.

My home course is Diamondback Golf Course which is a pretty tough track in general (7000yds/134/73.7) and especially tough with the way the wind blows around here. My goal for the year is to get back in good shape (both physically and my game) now that I'm healthy and break 70 for the first time out there.
