Searched for a while on here. Couldn't find a place for military members to share their sea stories. I have many to share as I'm sure many of you are saying to yourself... COME ON MAN!!

 

Let's call this place an unofficial USO.

 

Stop in hang your hat, share a story, military or not. I encourage everyone to take a look if this takes off.

If your dad, mom, sister, brother, uncle, aunt, grandparents served. Please tell them thank you for me.

 

There should be some good stories here.

I'll get started.

 

My rating or MOS (Job description) was formed in 1974 as a merger of Boiler Tender, Engineman, and Machinist Mate. To form Machinery Technician. Or MK as we call it. Not sure where the "K" came from, but we are called Motor Killers by our electricians. Since we work on "engines" and not those pesky electric motors.
