JBones
Ahhhhhhhh (Angels singing). I just received my Nike VR Tour w/UST ATTAS shaft that I won from LeaderboardGolf.com. First off, a big thanks to MGS and Leaderboard for giving me the opportunity to win this driver. For now, I will just be posting pictures; I'll be heading to the range in about an hour to complete the rest of the review. I worked with Joel at Leaderboard throughout this process and he was great. You can always tell a great company by how well their customer service takes care of you, especially on a free product. Anyway, to the pics (from my cell, wife stashed camera somewhere). First impression...this thing looks and feels amazing. JBones
Here is my take on this driver/shaft. Looks As you can see from the pictures above this thing is beautiful from the grip to the ground. With the head being black and the shaft orange and white, it incorporates my favorite colors (orange & black), so its a great combo for me. Looking down the shaft just gives you confidence that you're gonna put one 320 down the center. Grade - A Sound The sound is the only thing I don't like about this club. I would call the sound more of a "thwack" than a "thud" or "ping". I've heard a lot better and I've head a lot worse Grade - C Feel This shaft is as awesome as it should be with a $400 price tag. It feels more firm than my Matrix Ozik Xcon6. I have switched from X-Stiff to Stiff, because I couldn't seem to hit a controlled fade with a XS shaft. This is the firmest feeling Stiff shaft that I have played since making the switch, yet I was able to hit the controlled fade I was looking for. When you flush a drive on this head it is like butter; if you didn't hear the sound, you wouldn't know you hit a ball. Grade - A Performance It was very easy to work the ball with this setup; I could hit every shot imaginable with this driver. I was hitting directly into a 10-15mph wind and carrying it 275, so distance wise, it can compete with any driver I've hit. I had always been very accurate with Nike drivers, but the distance was always lacking; they have changed that with the VR. Grade - A Overall I would recommend this driver/shaft to anyone. I never thought I could hit a driver that was better than my Cobra, but this is a little more accurate with the same distance. Nike hit a homerun with this one. Grade - A- (only because of the sound) Follow @GolfspyBones
