amarc17
So I'm currently gaming a 56 and 60 mack daddy tour grind. Standard off the rack clubs i got for a good deal. I love opening the face and manipulating it around the green, but at the same time, on full swings I occasionally get a bit steep. I find the tour grind tends to dig a bit, especially the 60, but I dont want to give up the creativity I have with the wedges around the green. I'm looking into the SM6 and Mack Daddy Forged. Probably some kind of M and S grind combo. I did notice that vokey had a high bounce M grind and a v grind on their wedgeworks page. Anyone tried any of those grinds? Thoughts?? Help! Shankster
Cannot speak to the clubs you mentioned, but I would take a look at Edel. They have "super bounce". Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
Miboy62
I like the 54 & 58 in the M grind They are more versatile in the sand, and fairway. I also have the V grind, but prefer the M. dang3rtown
With the exception of longer bunker shots, I'm not sure higher lofted wedges are really meant to be used for hitting full shots. I would imagine a full swing of a 60* would be pretty unpredictable on the best of days. If that's your thing and the attack angle is steep, get plenty of bounce! Try either the F or the K grind Vokey wedges. Golfspy_CG2
Two great points right above. I have the SM6 58.12 in K and rarely use it on anything more than a half swing if not in the bunker. I also have the 50.8 in F and 54.8 in M. Both of those grinds are very versatile and allow me to hit any type shot or lie (up to the best of my ability) Sent from my LG-D850 using MyGolfSpy mobile app G430 Max 10K TSiR1 15.0 Aldlia Ascent 60g TSR2 18.0 PX Aldila Ascent 6og TSi1 20 Aldila Ascent Shafts R T350 5-GW SteelFiber I80 SM10 48F/54M and58K S159 48S/52S/56W/60B Select 5.5 Flowback 35" ProV1 Play number
FGrafton
I got custom fit for Edel wedges. Best golf money I've spent in some time. They fit you using a launch monitor, varying grinds, profiles and shafts to get you a great fit. Now it's like throwing darts! ridgewalker
I have an SM5 56* M grind with 10* of bounce. I can still dig in on fuller wedge shots. A different grind / more bounce may help some but the full solution will probably involve adjusting your technique Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
null
Hey man, I had similar issues with the MD Tour Grinds and switched to some vokeys with more bounce. Currently gaming Sm6s I'm using the 54 F grind with 14 degrees of bounce and the 60 M grind with 8 degrees of bounce. Gives me some versatility in my wedges and I do not have digging issues like I had with the Mack Daddy Tour Grinds

Smalls1588
I game SM5s (52,56) in F grinds and if your technique is solid you can still manipulate the face and play some versatile shots. It takes some adjustment but I can hit a flop from a tight lie with 14 bounce. Looking to get those new bronze SM6s though this summer and have shallowed my swing out since I bought the 2 wedges with full grinds so I'm in a similar boat grind wise. Kenny B
The amount of bounce really depends on the type of turf you are playing. In my area it's very hard turf so I don't need much bounce. However, I would like to have more bounce when I travel to places with soft Bermuda or wet turf. The v-soles on the SCORs and the similar design on the Srixon irons work pretty well in most conditions. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
Jiro
Ben Hogans have the v-soles as well (basically rebranded Scors from the same guy). They were having some killer deals on their clubs a couple of weeks ago--not sure if they are still offering them at discount.
