Every time I see this stuff, and I just want to go find my wife, give her a huge hug and sloppy kiss and say thanks! Back when I was frustrated with my inability to get my game back to where I felt it should be and was about to drop my membership and quit playing, it was her insistence that I keep playing.  She thinks my saturday rounds make me a happier person. Unless it's a crisis, she never calls or texts me on the course, and if I hang around and have drinks with the group, she's fine with it.

My wife has become the same way for the most part....then again getting a club membership with a beach club was a huge help.

I know that game.  My wife is very understanding though.  I have 3 sister's in law that work at my course, so I can't get away with anything.  On the flip side my wife knows I can't really get in to trouble and it's just the guys having drinks and maybe shaking some dice.

 

My favorite move while sitting at the bar is to text my wife and ask if I should bring home dinner from the course, or if she want's to bring up the kids and eat there.  It usually buys me at least another hour of hanging out.

I'm pretty lucky as well.  One she knows golf is my job, so the expectation of being at the course a lot is nothing new to her.   But even when I'm going out to play a non working round somewhere, she only has one request, that I pick up dinner on the way home.   Done!!

This was a problem last year - she plays in the women's league in the morning then had to run the cart home so I could give it a quick charge before I played in men's league that night. New batteries will help this year.

My "go to" is, "I am on the 8th hole, leaving soon". When in reality I'm on 16 with no plan on only doing 18. But I say I'll be gone for 4 hours and I'm gone for 4 hours on the dot. Don't want to lose my privileges.
