PlaidJacket
I recently purchased a set of KZG forged irons from one of our members. Really nice stuff too. My questions is this: I'll have to have these clubs refit to me. (shafts, weighting , other adjustments, etc.) I discussed this through email with my fitter and he said I didn't have to personally bring the clubs and go through a fitting at his studio/shop. All I needed to do was ship the irons and he could rebuild the clubs to my specs since he already has all that information. I'm not saying my guy doesn't know what he's talking about, He does... in fact he's a top fitter recognized nationally. I suppose I'm seeking a second opinion. What say you guys? MmmmmmBuddy
I would think that your guy has a pretty good idea what your fit is. If he says that he only needs the clubheads to build to your specs, I would trust him.. jayjay0808
I would trust him as well. I think he will be able to figure out lie and length from previous fittings. Blacklist
I keep the spec's on all the fittings I do, not just the person's data (wrist to floor, etc) but also from the trip to the range (swing speeds/launch angles) to the spec's on the set (length/weight/swing weight/shaft flex sorting/components used/etc) so if they wanted a set built and there had not been any drastic difference in the individuals game, I could do it without their involvement, no problem. Rtracymog
How far of a drive is it? If it's unreasonable, just let your fitter do what he does best. If not, just take the drive to give yourself peace of mind. PlaidJacket
I would think that your guy has a pretty good idea what your fit is. If he says that he only needs the clubheads to build to your specs, I would trust him.. I think my thoughts are confirmed. My fitter is really good and I trust him. He has all my specs. I supposed I just needed to hear it from a couple of you guys is all. I'd drop in for the fitting except he's 4.5 hours away and I really don't have plans to be in his area anytime soon. If after the work is done and I need some adjustments I'll take them in next time i'm around. jaskanski
If he has your specs - no problem. What we in the trade call "blue-printing" - or in other words, building a set of clubs to a specification from a set of drawings, numbers or "blue-prints". It's not uncommon to use this technique to disassemble an off the rack set (OTR) and check to see if they are within the tolerance stated by the manufacturer. A lot aren't. FGrafton
He just needs your specs. It's like going to a tailor, once he has your measurements it's just cur and sew. Same with clubs, just cut, weigh, measure, dry fit, measure again, the glue! Sent from my SM-G935V using MyGolfSpy mobile app
