mtisdale
I would love to put a small putting green in my back yard. I have a hill and a flat area at the top that's just wasted space. No idea of cost or what's involved in a project like this? also what for the winter would you need to tarp it? Any suggestions or advice would be amazing. 3 Quote Driver - Ping G5 10.5 3W & 5W - Taylormade aeroburner Irons - Cobra Amp cell 4-GW Wedge - Titleist Volky 60deg Putter - Odyssey V-7 tank superstoke long grip
Dr Strangelove
My Dad did this when we were younger. It's a BIG commitment from a maintenance perspective. He wound up making a deal with a local greenskeeper to get a hand push (manual) mower. Had to cut it every day and roll it often. Are you up for that? tony@CIC
I was thinking of doing the same thing (putting green) but using artificial turf instead. No mowing, etc. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy 1 Quote Left Hand orientation SIM 2 D Max with Fujikura Air Speeder Shaft Cobra Radspeed 3W/RIptide Shaft 410 Hybrids 22*, 26* Cobra Speed Zone 6-GP/Recoil ESX 460 F3 Shafts SM7 54* Wedge Glide 3.0 60* Wedge O Works putter V3 NX9-HD - 4 Wheel EZGO TXT 48v cart - too many shoes to list and so many to buy And BAG Boy Golf Balls: Vice Pro Plus 2020 Official Tester Beginning Driver Speed - 78 2019 Official Tester 410 Driver 2018 Official Tester C300
Peterpc2828
I'm dying to put one in my side yard but obviously would go with synthetic green, there are so many to choose from depending on the type of grass and speed, I've seen some very nice ones that rival a country club putting green. Tour greens/ southwest greens / pro green are just a few out there that do very good synthetics. Hopefully we can both get this done sooner than later. Good luck and let us know what you wind up doing. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Are you up for that? i can if i'm doing it out of real grass, not sure if that's the way to go or artificial. Camcmart
I think artificial would be the best way to go. I've been working at a golf course for a few years now and all the work that goes in to maintaining a good green takes time and patience that takes a special type of person haha Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy 1 Quote Driver: 10.5* XR16 R Flex Woods: Big Bertha V-Series 3 Wood R Flex Hybrid: 913H 21* R flex Irons: C300 4-PW R Flex Wedges: SM5 50*, 54*, 58* Putter: 2135 Cero 33" / EXO Seven S 33"

Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy Aside from the online companies I mentioned above there are some higher end landscaping companies that do putting greens around my area but I haven't gotten that far yet unfortunately. mtisdale
I used to work at a private golf course here in my area so the work is not a concern of mine it's just the winter that i'm worried about here in Canada. You should leave the trees in, you know, to practice those behind the tree shots, lol. I know I can use that practice... MDGolfHacker Quote What's In This Lefty's Bag?
