They picked some great songs for this medley and did them justice. Their YouTube channel is filled with lots of great covers, although the drummer tends to overplay more often than not. He didn't in this medley, but their start to finish cover of Dark Side of the Moon takes a hit due to how unnecessarily busy he gets in a lot of sections. While the songs they choose to cover may not be everyone's cup of tea, the musicianship across the board is amazing. Lipstick on a pig. If every synthesizers suddenly disappeared, the world would be a better place. I have tried to wipe the 80's completely from my memory. Coming from the 70's where socially and reflected in the music was a "lets make the world a better place", but 80's and the "I am going to get mine" which was also reflected in the music and I am just not a fan. Ironically my son is a huge fan of movies and TV shows from the 80's he calls "80's cheese" and he thinks they were cheesy and ironic on purpose. Of course I lived through the 80's and know irony had nothing to do with it. ... I would add I think the individual that loves ALL era's of music is a lucky or smart individual. Shapotomous
I cut across 3 or 4 decades with the tunes on my ipod including a few from the '80's.....There are some artists from then I still listen to regularly.... XTC, Depeche Mode, older U2, Peter Gabriele are a few.... XTC has some more serious tunes (like Dear God) but I always liked the bass line on this one.
