Back then the only other choice were those poor rolling 2 wheel pull carts that put just as much stress on my shoulders as carrying. I could make the argument that the 3 wheeled cart was one of the most revolutionary equipment changes in my lifetime. scotter032, Ben Joest and cnosil 3 Quote Cobra 50th Anniversary Member Special Challenge/Testing Bag (Link Here) Driver: Stealth2 HD 10.5* ... TXHammeringNails
I’ve walked my home course a few times in late winter, I really enjoyed it and it mixes it up. I think walking allows you to stay loose and mentally break away from the game in between shots. I'll keep walking as long as I'm physically able to. I have a caddytek with a seat. I like the extra bit of storage for sweaters, water, etc. The seat costs extra but was well worth the extra $40. Oh yes! Golf having an important mental side to it, walking on your own and going directly to your ball without having to stop at somebody else's or leave the cart on the path and bring 2-3 clubs with you across the fairway depending on the line of sight/lie that you find once you get over your ball is a mega plus. Nowadays, it never happens that I have a 4-hour window where I don't even look once at my phone and it only ever happens when I play golf walking, not riding. CSiders12
Getting your hands on a nice push cart is the way to go. I need to upgrade my pushcart, but you can save a ton of money over the course of a season using a push cart. Also, I typically play better when I walk. I feel like when I'm not playing well, walking to my next shot helps get rid of some of the built-up emotion. I have gotten out and walked a could of times this year. Really the only time I don't walk is when it is too hot. I hate playing when it is above 90 degrees. Other than that, I walk as much as I can! Bread
I always walk and always carry, I enjoy the pacing so much more than I do when I’m forced to be in a cart. I feel so rushed between shots in a cart. Like. I have no time to think about the shot just gone or the next shot. DrewHinton
I was a member at a very affordable country club in North Carolina for a few years and I would walk. I played about 4 rounds a week and since I didn’t pay cart fees it’s fair to say I absolutely got my money’s worth. Now that I’m in a more populated area of Texas I play local municipal courses and unless you’re on the course as soon as the sun comes up, its just not feasible for me to walk. I always take a cart and I still dream of the time I paid $150 a month for unlimited golf with no cart fees or greens fees lolSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk StrokerAce

tinyone8
55 YOA and I must walk when possible. Much better for the game and my back. Keeps me loose. Carry a bag for 18 holes (about 5 miles) and you will feel you like accomplished something vs riding around in a cart checking emails and social crap. Caddie1966
I’m 70 and walk using a 4wheel bag boy push cart I bought about 8 years ago. I walk 3-4 times a week, even in the hot summers we have here in Tx. I play early to try to beat the heat. Fortunately the course I play haws designed with very little distance between holes so no long walks except between nines. I ride when on vacation or at a resort course. I will take candies if they are available and walk. It’s simply more enjoyable for me if I walk. I can focus better and I think I play better. ScramblinMan
I am definitely a walker. I use an electric push cart since I prefer a cart bag vs. a stand bag and with all the compartments of the bag filled with everything, it is quite heavy! I usually play 3-4 times per week and golfing is my primary source for exercise. chisag 1 Quote Jaws 58 wedge Paradym 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, P, AW, GW Paradym 3wood, 5wood, 7wood and Driver White hot OG Seven putter
frazzman80
Since getting my Transrover for Christmas I’ve walked 6 of my last 9 rounds and loved every step of it. It helps me view the course and my next shot so much better and lets me strategize as I’m approaching the ball in a way that I don’t get from riding. StrokerAce
I have big time respect for people that carry their bag for 18 holes. I've used a push cart for a long time and have tried carrying my backpack style bag and that is some work. love the fact that I can get some good cardio while playing at the same time. I'm about twice the amount of steps on my fitbit when I walk vs ride. but - this is definitely weather dependent. I cannot imagine walking in the big time heat/humidity. be safe, have fun and use whatever method of transportation does that for you.
