My wife and I have been walking the last several months for overall health, so I've been walking whenever I play 9 holes. I want to build up to walk all 18 holes, but I also have some foot issues that keep me from doing that now. I've never liked pulling a cart, although I've never tried any of the newer versions or a self-propelled, so I have a lightweight carry bag that I use.

I do think walking helps me to focus better. A few of us will play an early 9 where I ride before our league 9 where I walk, and I notice that I'm calmer before a shot when walking. Possibly I'm just more exhausted! 🥵

I like to walk my course during solo rounds but I'll ride otherwise.  Love the backpack straps on my bag.

Just wondering if there any walkers left. I recently returned to the joys of walking the course. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the idea of leaving the cart behind and playing in a much more relaxed state of mind. Also, it seems to me that I play better when walking. Anyone else enjoy putting one foot in front of the other when playing?

I use an electric push cart, so I'm walking without the weight. For me it's a good balance. I've walked over 125 miles since the 24 January, according to the gauge on the cart.

I still walk without the cart for rounds, but it's usually when I am doing an iron-only round. I walk around with a 5/7/54 degree, putter for 9 holes and carry the bag.

Use the battery powered Hillbilly Scout, when I walk - still dependent on hills on course. Also some courses I walk in fall through spring become unwalkable in summer - way to hot. You can only get the sense of the subtle up/down hills from walking.

Have been walking when ever it is possible. With the game I have, some days all I get is a good walk. I was walking Bandon Trails a few years ago, and one of the others in our group was 77. He was not only walking, and carrying, but he was doing 36 holes a day. At the end of the day he still had a great game! He's my hero. I'm a recent cancer survivor, and rather than pushing a cart, I'm carrying a short set. I think it's actually easier for me to carry 10 clubs, on the hilly courses I play than it is to push a Clic Gear cart. I plan to get to a full set of clubs by the end of June.

211 courses and counting. I play mostly Callaway with 2 Ping wedges and an old Ping Kush Putter. I’m currently playing Taylormade TP5 or Tour Response balls.

I would love to get into the habit of walking more but as a high handicapper I get worried about being slow or pace of play. I’m not slow over the ball but sometimes finding mine slows things down and add on the walking vs riding time and it makes me feel like I have to rush.

I am a walker because I am a golfer. I am pushing a Clicgear and it's great. Living in Quebec, the weather allows to walk with ease. A few times during summer, when it is over 32 degrees celsius (90 Fahrenheit), I will use a cart specially when in competition.

Absoflippinlutely! I only take a cart when I have to. Love the walk - exercise benefits, more time to chat with fellow players, a little more time to 'rest' between shots. I still carry as well (Sum Mountain 2.5+) as I can't even be bothered to switch to a pull cart, although that may come sooner or later!

I always walk for my Friday night 9-hole league (with a Clicgear pushcart) and any other time I play 9. I only ride when I play 18.

Question for all the walkers out there. Do you find it's any less social walking the course with your buddies vs riding a cart together? I feel like I definitely have more conversation in the cart on the fairways as opposed to just chatting on the tee box and the green.

Always waiting for the next best time to jump on a new piece of gear!

Yes and no! I tend to pick friends that slice into the same woods as me when I’m walking!
