chershey
Does anyone out there have a equipment brand that they keep trying and just can't hit. For me, it's Mizuno irons. I keep reading about how great they are and how awesome they feel, but every time I try them, I can't seem to find the center of the face and get no distance from them. It's frustrating because I love how they look, but I consider it the one brand I just can't hit and always look elsewhere now. I have no issues hitting clubs from any other brands, including Callaway blades I gamed for a year, or my current Titleist AP2s, but I can't hit any of the Mizuno's well. I don't know why. Anyone else have a similar issue? null
Honestly since the original Big Bertha Alpha I have not liked the way Callaway drivers have felt or sounded. I also do not get the along with the Ping or Callaway wedges on full swings.
DiscipleofPenick
I have never hit a Callaway product that I liked. Irons, drivers nothing. numberonecoog
Ping drivers. I slice them off the planet for some reason. This was going to be my answer. Its the only brand I have to get the most forgiving tech driver. Then when I do that it becomes a high launching super spinny ball that goes no where. cnosil
For me it doesn't seem to be brands but specific models of clubs. Probably due to the weighting or some aspect of the club that doesn't match up to my swing. It it is just a mental block based on how I think it feels. chershey
Interesting responses. I think it just shows how mental this game is that the way a club looks or feels can make it difficult to hit. That's why you can't always trust the opinions of others when it comes to club reviews. You have to see it and try it for yourself. Everyone is different. Golfspy_CG2
Boy that's tough to say. If I have to answer, I'd say Mizuuno. But that's based on two clubs. The MP60 irons whcih had too much of a leading edge that caused me to dig on just about every shot. Sold them in less than two weeks. The Mizuno MP 001 driver. Kenny B
I bought the original Callaway Big Bertha driver on sale while on a business trip. I never hit it very well, but continued to play it. It is the only Callaway club I have ever owned. For the last 10 years I have tried Callaway woods and irons whenever I went into a store, but I have never hit them as well as other clubs. Maybe it's all mental. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
