Depending on which list you go by, I have played 22 "top 100" courses.  Some are top 100 public.  Some are top 100.  Some are on the golfweek "classic" vs "modern" list.  Of the "top" courses I've played, the most memorable was probably Whistling Straits at the American Club in Kohler, WI.

Currently, none, but I plan on changing that whenever I'm finished with college and actually have time/money to have annual/biannual golf trips with friends. My first stop will probably be French Lick, IN, followed by some Michigan links.

I've played the French Lick Ross course, but not the Dye.  The Ross course is a lot of fun IMO.  Not sure the Dye course justifies the expense, but that's a pretty objective opinion.

Played a few....

Torrey Pines South

Plan on playing the Quarry at Giants Ridge, Sentryworld, The Wilderness at Fortune Bay and hopefully a few others this year - if I behave myself and get permission from the War Department.

... I have only played 5 and could have played 6 but I was an ignorant moron.

... Quite a few years ago I was narrating a commercial for Kohler bathroom fixtures up in Wisconsin and the owner asked if I wanted to play a new course he was building. It wasn't ready for play yet and but was interested in golfers opinions. In my defense it was late at night and I had to get home to my wife and two toddlers, I didn't have my clubs with me, I was tired after a long day and didn't want to spend the night in a hotel when I could be home in bed in 3 hours. But most importantly he didn't tell me he was building a Championship caliber course and wanted to host a Major. Just "I built this course along the lake" and I knew it was windy and I was not interested in playing some toilet guys goat track that wasn't even finished.

... Missing out on privately playing Whistling Straits is one of the true regrets of my golfing life.

... I am flying into Portland tomorrow for an 8 day trip. Unfortunately I am not bringing clubs with me as I am working 4 days and the Mrs and my 26 yr old are coming with me so that means some hiking and lots and lots of food! Last summer when I was working there we drove down to Bandon to look at the courses and I can't wait to play them one day soon. Bandon is at the top of my "must play list".

I'm another one at 0 too. Closest I've come is Torrey Pines North. Do have a few on the list for future trips (hopefully). Sawgrass possibly next spring, and there are quite a few within 3-330 hours of me like Nemacolin, Links at Ferry Point, Bethpage, Bulls Rock.

Lots of options! Who's up for some road trips
