I think that Hogan is still running the 87.50 per club deal. The new hybrids were easy to hit and get airborne (a little spinny for me) but they looked and felt great at impact. Plus they have some moveable weights to play with the ball flight a little.

You can have about anything that you want for 100 other than this years models. Honestly I would spend more than 50 for a hybrid. I have SLRD S that works fine. I had the Calloway Xhot but it spun too much and launched to high for me. Easy club to hit though.

Taylor Made Sim2  10.5 (Opened 1 click) Ventus Blue 5  R flex

Ping G410 5-9 wood  Alta 65 R flex

Wilson D7 forged 6-GW -  Mamiya recoil 460 R flex

Edison Wedges 54 and 59 KBS Tour Graphite 80's

EVNRoll ER 5

Titleist Pro VIx optic yellow with revkev stamped on them

Tour Exotics 3 wood is in the bag because we are allowed 14 clubs.  It's a great club for pulling balls out of the water or from bushes - you never want to put your hand into anything in Florida unless you are absolutely certain that it's safe.  There are rare wind conditions when I might hit it off the tee on a few holes that I play.

For me the Taylormade Rescue Mid has always been in my bag this year I picked up a 3H and 4H with Aldila NV shaft for around $20 each. They look great and may not be the longest ever but will prove worthy of a test.

"Obviously my iron play is incredible, and when I get going I can get hot, but this course just fits my eye. The shaping of the holes, and just a couple of the doglegs, I'm able to shape shots."

If you can get your hands on a Bridgestone JGR hybrid used and below $100, I would say that it's a good buy.

I'm playing one right now and simply love it due to the ease of getting it into the air.

You can find a Callaway x2 hot or x2 hot pro brand new for under $50 on ebay. Such an amazing hybrid for the money

The X2Hot Pro is a fantastic hybrid. Still have one with a UST V2 95x that hits the bag every once in a while.

Haha that was me. I had one when it first came out and loved it, but had to sell all of my golf clubs too help with some medical stuff.

Once I was able to buy golf stuff again I moved away from the Callaway brand.

Nice to have it back in the bag.

The pro is at little smaller than the standard, but I love how playable it is from all different lies and the face is super springy

I have the original xhot 3 and 4 and love them as well!

Agree with X2hot or pro and the Apex if you like your hybos to play like irons.

I demo'd the M1 and M2 two weeks ago and just picked up an M2 22* on eBay for $170, shipped to Hawaii, using the memorial day coupon. Super stoked! See if there are any demo days near you, they're really fun and the fitters I worked with were helpful and weren't trying to force me to buy anything or shove anything down my throat. Going to a Callaway demo tomorrow!

FWIW I have the Titleist 816 and it is really nice.  Very adjustable too.

I personally love the Titleist hybrids since they are not hook machines like others have been for me.   I had a 585h and now have a 915 and 816.    You can get the 915 for under a hundred and the 585 for less than $40

Firstly, I am not a "brand man" I just want what works. So much so I run Callaway xr16 driver, Titleist and Cobra hybrids, Cobra irons and mac daddy wedges. I was having a hate/hate relationship with my Cobra bio cell 3 wood last year (was the least consistent club in my bag). I wanted the lowest loft hybrid I could hit consistently. Luckily my home pro shop had Titleist, Cobra and Mizuno in stock. I tried them all with a multitude of shafts. It is amazing what difference just changing the shaft can make. After trying about 12 different head/shaft combinations I settled on the 915hd 17.5 deg. I consistently hit it 200m. My advice, get out there and try them ALL. What suit me probably won't suit you.

  • 2 weeks later...

I recently put my old Adams A7 4H 22* back in the bag, and she only let me down once.  (that was when I topped it yesterday, when someone yelled FORE)

You can probably find an older model Adams for like 50-70$ range on ebay.  I have been toying with the idea of buying the new cobra F7 adjustable to replace my 4 Iron that i'm struggling with (before I decided to reinstate Adams back into the bag)

just my thoughts on Adams Hybrids
