Martha and I are praying for Penny's speedy recovery.  She is a very strong girl, and she will get through this.  Please keep us posted on her condition.

That is some picture Rev.  Dogs are amazing animals, the most compassionate and loving creatures on earth.   I bet Peanut will jump with excitement when she comes home!

Some positives today so far. Eeg was normal, she's a bit less altered, she recognized the picture of peanut instantly. She's also starting to speak in full intelligible sentences.

Here's an update-

 

The very good news is that all the scary stuff is ruled out.

 

The bad news is that they still don't know what it is. They are guessing a very rare form of auto immune disease that attacks the brain. It takes about a week for the spinal fluid culture to confirm that diagnosis. If it's correct it's treatable but a very long recovery. She could easily loose the next school year.

 

Since she's medically stable and no threat to herself she should also come home today.

She's home. As you can see she's doing better. The doctors tell us that it will be months before she's fully recovered. She's having a very good night. The best one this week.
