GolfSpy_APH
The Garsen grips have got a lot of hype, however the press grip from LAB is easily the best grip I have had on a putter. I am very curious to try the pistol grip they have as well. LAB grip A++ Golf2Much 1 Quote as of Nov 6, 2023 (Past WITB) Driver: Paradym TD w/ GD ADDI 6X Driver Shootout! Interested to see if you prefer something stock right off the rack or a variation of the superstroke (pistol, flatso, countercore, 1.0-5.0) or some of the Winn grip offerings. Especially curious to see if anyone has the flatcat grip that Justin Rose and some other tour pros have put into play recently. Let me know maybe what you prefer, what you like or what you don't like. I have preferred the Gravity Grip ever since I got one installed on my Evnroll putter about 6 years ago, and I now have Gravity Grips on three of my putters. However, when I built a putter for myself using Maltby components about two years ago, I used a Garsen Quad Tour Proto grip in the build, and I also like that grip quite a lot and have not changed grips on that putter. The grip on my original Evnroll putter has been changed twice since I got the putter (it’s on its third Gravity Grip now, and that one is due to be changed soon), and when I ordered a new Evnroll putter (very similar to the original, but with a slightly different hosel style), I made sure to order it with a Gravity Grip as well. I also put a Gravity Grip on my Makefield VS Mallet putter, hoping that it would add sufficient counterweight or counterbalance at the grip end, but it hasn’t helped much. There are also always at least two spare Gravity Grips in the storage cabinet in my workshop, still in their wrappers. The biggest advantage I find with the Gravity Grip, in addition to its shape, is that the 50 gram steel rod that runs the full length of the grip under the player’s hands adds a great amount of counterbalancing and stability to the putter. If the Garsen grips had more weight, or the ability to add a counter weight in the butt, as many of the SuperStroke grips do, the Garsen Quad Tour grips would be just about perfect. I would say many use that because it's a classic vs some of the performance benefits which amateurs can gain by using newer grips with more tech.
