I noticed that you specifically mentioned Dukes Mayo, but then I see that you live in the south.    From my teen years on, living in Henrico just outside Richmond, Va, the Dukes sign over its office and factory was a landmark on Broad Street.   Dukes on Virginia baked ham ain't bad, ain't bad at all.

Us country boys like home grown tomatoes with bacon, & lettuce sandwiches.  They're so good it'll make ya slap your momma!  :D

If you ever find yourself in Hawaii, right after you land at HNL airport there's a place called Big Kahuna's Pizza. Yeah, they have amazingly good pizza, but their Reuben is one of the best on island, if not the best.

 

Us country boys like home grown tomatoes with bacon, & lettuce sandwiches.  They're so good it'll make ya slap your momma!  :D

 

Not a country boy but I love a BLT. Also biscuits and gravy. Anytime I visit the mainland, I get some form of chicken fried steak w/ gravy, or just biscuits. No one here knows how to make good homestyle sausage gravy, it's a travesty!!

Heck, for us Country boys just about everything we ate was home grown including the chickens and the hogs.    There is a type of diet that has been labelled as "Soul" food.  It such is the case, then I must have soul.   I grew up on it and it was just poor people's food.

Just can't beat a good chicken parm for me! Harder to find here in NC.

 

Katz Deli pastrami as mentioned is also incredible.

 

Gotta admit that Turkey Rueben (sacrilege!) is slowly winning me over. BUT it absolutely must be carved from the bird turkey. Cold-cut version is weak.

I don't know if the mainland Costcos are the same, but there's this sandwich that is sold with a salad by the other pre-prepped take home food section that is pretty killer. Turkey and havarti (i think) on a croissant, with a salad as well.

 

I have been known to chow on the one you mentioned from time to time as well though! It's a great sandwich and the price is great too.
