I recently went to the local DI (a thrift store we have here in the West) and found some great clubs. My set is pretty complete, but I added them to a set I have for people to borrow and things like that.

For about 25 bucks I got:

A Taylormade RocketBallz Hybrid 3 - $5.00

A Taylormade R7 3 wood - $5.00

A ping Craz-e putter - $5.00

A Taylormade Rossa Mezza putter - $3.00

It was rare, because usually I just find random irons from the 70's and obsolete woods. I keep checking though because sometimes I find a unique putter or something.

Anyway, I'm curious. What's the best thing you have found at a thrift store or garage sale and how much did you pay?

I picked up a decent Titleist bag for $6 at Goodwill a while back, gave it to a neighbor who is starting out as a new golfer.  But, I haven't seen any clubs worth picking up yet, of course there was nothing even close to what you got, just old junk.

Nice haul man!

I always check salvation army and summer garage sales. Sometimes you can find old clubs that have some value now being classics.

I used to do this some many years ago. I never did find anything of collector value. Mostly a bunch of old beater junk where the asking price of $4 was over priced. I certainly wasn't going to play or refurb any of that stuff.

I find a lot of Cleveland wedges and Ping putters for $0.99. I have also come across a surprising number of perfectly functioning Ping Hoofers for $5.00 - $10.00.

Wow. Nice finds. Seems like whenever I check goodwill there is nothing remotely as good as your finds.

Found this last year while I was antique shopping with the girlfriend. Had a couple booths set up outside and this gentleman said $15 and it's yours. I told him I only had a $10 bill and he said that'll do. Probably the best $10 I've ever spent. Even though I'm a lefty.

Srixon I-302 irons. I believe it was 3-PW, but missing the 5 iron.

For a buck, I picked up the TaylorMade R7 Superquad, which I loved... until a fracture appeared. Well, that's what happens to a 13 year old club, I guess!

I have found this to be the case too.

Quite looking several years ago as ebay has pretty much made anything worth having finding its way there.

GOOD HAUL!

After seeing all the sweet finds you guys have I might have the get back on the prowl.

he best players don't get overwhelmed with mechanical thoughts as they stand over the ball. They pick one feel-based thought and go with it. Steal one of these tour thoughts for some pre-swing clarity.
