I honestly hate pulling a trailer. Setting the damn thing up, and taking it down. But the time when it's parked and you can smell the pine trees in the air, nice fresh "lake breeze", and at night a fire crackling... makes getting cut off on the highway, yelled at by your boss before you go, packing the rig up, setting up... worth it.

I don't know about that brother . I have a woodshed and outhouse behind the main house right now and we're doing fine

First weekend get away of the summer. Up in some of the most beautiful country in Michigan. Spending the next 3 days in Big Bay, no golf course, no power maybe, just the woods. Can't wait to burn some s'mores later.

I am SOOOO jealous. NO phone no cable nothing.. Please, take me with you.. For me that is perfect, for the family only about 3 days is all they can handle.. they be running into town to check e-mail, facebook, snapchat,or whatever.. Not me.. i hope you trip was great..

Was so so... it was sort of like... well hard to explain. I went somewhere at midnight, and walked back by again at 5... the same dude was sitting in the same spot with the same bottle of JD.

 

Everyone had a jet ski with pipes, big trucks with some bass that shook the whole place.

 

It's weird because I wouldn't have expected that at all, it was in the middle of nowhere.

 

Nothing wrong with any of it, just weird.

 

We have a 10 day trip scheduled for the last 2 weeks of August. Should be a good time, we are going to Copper Harbor, MI. There is a little 9 hole track I've been waiting to play for 10 years. We have been there before so it will be good for the fam.

 

I canceled this weekends trip because of the rain... or maybe The Open...

 

Couple more fall trips in order too. Gotta soak up some UP as this is our last summer/fall here.

I love backpacking—can get to some more scenic and interesting places for sure though it does make you make some decisions on what to bring vs car camping.

I camp a fair amount but only one 6 day trip this year. Camp when I deer and elk hunt as well in a wall tent with a wood stove.

 

At 51 i think Im done with tent camping fir fun and Im in the process of trailer shopping. Had enough if tents minus the wall tent.

Tent camping is for my kids who are made of rubber and can bounce back. One night in a tent and I need PT.

Well I do add nice air matresses and cots so its not bad in that department. I want o hook it all up to the truck and go. Not load, unload, set up, take down, load, unload..exhausts me thinking about it.

A cot might help. My air mattress always went flat and I ended up on the ground.

Returned home and was able to get out to the course for some golf.

Pretty excited for next week. We are spending the last week before school (and football season) camping in Copper Harbor. There is a little 9 hole course that is $10 to walk. Planning on enjoying some camp coffee and a nice stroll through the woods. Nothing that a driver would be needed for. Going minimalist for the bag, and I might bring my Hogan persimmons .

Taking the family camping for 3 days on the river. No A/C, no electric, no water, and no cell service. The way camping is supposed to be.

This is one thing I've never had the desire to do. I've never enjoyed sleeping “outdoors”, and I would rather stay in a cabin, or house. I love the mountains, especially where I went to college, but I can't do campers, tents, and sleeping bags. Nope.

Just got back to Da Shack. Great week of camping!!

 

Didn't get to play golf every day like I planned, it was raining and or 50° outside.

 

Heck of a week regardless!

 

Glad to be back to semi civilization!!
