The Golf Club 2 (Video Game)

Yup, really enjoying it so far. They are working on cleaning up some server issues to get the game running a bit better, but other than that I have enjoyed it so far.

 

New swing mechanic is definitely more challenging than last year - glad their are multiple difficulty levels for the swing.

 

Ball physics are so much better - much more realistic, especially around the green.

 

Still think the rough is just too penal - but the great part about this game is you can talk opening with the developer on their forums. Altering the rough a little is something they are thinking about.

 

Love the ability to customize my golf clubs a bit with head, shaft and grip colors, as well as set makeup.

 

Looking forward to diving into the course designer when I have some more time - but for now I have just been playing rounds

You can get most of those on the wii game store. Although, I haven't checked in a while.

I've only been able to play offline. Not sure why, it keeps saying I lost connection but when I go to main menu and test connection it's perfect. Anyone else having trouble?

Yup - they didn't expect this many people to be on at launch so the servers are bogged down.  They are working on getting everything running smoothly.

Only course I would consider modeling would be my own club and that's just for the lolz.

This got me thinking. It would be cool if there were quite a few members that joined and recreated their home course, or whichever course they play most often, so us other spies could have an idea of their playing conditions.

 

Just a thought. I'll attempt to create mine and share it.

Cool idea, I'm willing to give it a shot. Hopefully someone in Hawaii beats me to it though, unless the creator is super easy, I'm not a very artistic person and it might take me 100 hours to make the first hole lol

I have played this a couple of times now and I'm digging it. It can be stupid hard though, play a course with fast greens and you are going to have issues. I have had chip shots roll back down hills, and 5 or 6 putt more than once. Still fun though!

 

I am going to add a few of you guys on PS4 (I have zero ps4 friends right now) and my username is az4lifenotr, so if you see me pop up, that's why.

 

Has anybody made any moves into creating the My Golf Spy Society? I don't mind creating it, although it might take me a few days. I'd love to play a few matches with you guys, as of right now the closest I have come to playing with someone is with my daughter laying in my lap!

The Golf Club is made by an indie (tiny) developer called HB Studios. MLB the Show is made by Sony. The Golf Club's budget is literally less than 1/100th of the MLB the Show's.

HB Studios is located in the same town as my home course - Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada!

Agreed! I like how the game even makes me frustrated, just like real life. Haha.
