GolfSpy Barbajo
Here are some pi of the irons and crossover that wound up on the cutting room floor... Did not have a good swing the day we visited PING, so I really didn't hit the driver or fairways well at all. Tony did, and good God he was smoking the driver - the numbers he posted in the blog post are legit. He was killing it. I'm really impressed with the irons - they hide the offset very well and the visual tweaks they did to the top rail are remarkable - it really does look like a players club with a tad more offset. And it flies as advertised - very high and very straight, and the feel is exceptional. And as a hybrid-phobic player who struggles with long irons, the Crossovers seem like a dream club. I did like the first version, but I can see bagging the new ones. It really does cross over all over the place -- looks more like an iron than the original (1/8" slimmer all the way around), but they designed the sole to play more like a hybrid. The CG is more towards the face like an iron to reduce the gearing affect (reducing the likelihood of crazy hooks), but it maintains the ball speeds of a hybrid. Some pretty slick product development, if you ask me. What's in the bag: Driver: TSR3; DynaPWR Carbon FW Wood: DynaPWR 3-wood; TSR 2+ Hybrids: PXG Gen4 18-degree Utility Irons: ZX MkII 20* Irons:; 699/699 Pro V2 Combo; D9 Forged; MT86 (coming soon!); VIP 1025 V-Foil MB/CB; Wedges: RTX6 Zipcore Putter: HB Soft Milled 10.5; Newport Special Select; Willamette, BB8; 8802; MATI Monto Ball: Tour B RXS; Z-STAR Diamond; Triad Stat Tracker/GPS Watch: Follow @golfspybarbajo
