Rickp
That was the excitement I was referring too. He won the US Open by default when DJ 3 jacked on 18. Taking control, bouncing back... that was performance! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy I enjoyed it and my wife even watched the last 7 holes, she couldn't believe it. Crashtestdummy
It was fun to watch. The chaos of #13 ruling was crazy. You can totally see that when Spieth saved a bogey on 13th and Kuchar got a par, Spieth felt like he dodged a bullet and was completely charged up. I think in his mind, the 13th ended with best possible outcome with him getting a bogey and Kuchar getting a par. Spieth realistically could of dropped two or three strokes on the 13th if he got a double bogey and Kuchar got a birdie or par. After that Spieth was a new golfer and just knew he didn't throw it away on one hole and had to take advantage of the opportunity. What a finish. BigtazzGolf
Ok I've recovered from that Open finish. Wow. Spieth could have folded after 13 but just went out and took that jug. Dropping bomb putts like that was just unreal. Kid was on another level than the rest. His caddy deserves a ton of credit as well for keeping the wheels on the track! Loved it. StrokerAce
-- just finished watching on major tape delay; had a family baptism + party and I was trying my hardest not to find out what happened but some guy spilled the beans. Even though I knew JS won I had to see how it happened. Speechless... that stretch from 14-15-16-17-18 was one for the ages. 13 would have thrown 95% of the players on tour way out of sync (ahem, Rory) but he almost aced the next tee shot. Just phenomenal. Even though he actually sucked for most of the day he ground it out when it mattered most. Hats off to Matt Kuchar; the guy played fantastic today... a couple more early putts drop and who knows what would have happened... he came so close... I like his game and he's been one of my faves since that Master's as an am. How do you spell clutch?? S-P-I-E-T-H That eagle on 14 is my call for the shot that sealed the deal. That was beyond huge. Shankster
Yeah. He played well. But no one else really did. Kuchar was there like a pesky mosquito, but other than that the bug spray kept them away. That might be the best finishing stretch in PGA history. Pretty damn good. revkev
Great video Shankster - wonderful job of settling the matter R and A, well played Jordan. He followed the rules to a T! Both guys in the last group managed to shoot 69 on a very tough course in brutal conditions. Others couldn't but they did. That speaks volumes for their play. Li shot an amazing round but he finished as the wind came up. They held him off knowing full well that the scoring possibilities were coming late in the round. That's how champions do it.
