The Open Championship

"The Open", ugh! I love the tournament but the English always do this! In Rugby they're the, "Rugby Football Union". Everyone else is the, "United states Rugby Football Union" but just decided to make everyone acknowledge that they were there first. Bah! It's the British Open! And Jordan Speith is going to win!

Fleetwood has been my pick since Erin Hills. My maybe's are Rahm or Casey.

A second Major for DJ or Sergio works too.

Can't wait to see DJ launching drives 450 yards in the wind.

Personally, I have no problem with just calling the tournament-the Open Championship.   To me, it is just the recognition of and respect for the heritage of the game.   After all, don't we call our baseball championship the "World Series".

Rahm seems to have a more repeatable swing than the rest of the youngins, and you could be right.

Funny you say that. This was my first exposure to Rahm and his game. I was actually watching it live when it happened with excitement to see what all the fuss was about with this guy and he did this! I laughed so hard for so long.

I'll never get it out of my head when I think of him. I think the commentators are the best part.

I'm still liking Jordan Spieth or Sergio Garcia. It'll be interesting to see how Phil does with his brother on the bag or has he picked a new caddie?

I would be happy to never see Spieth win again.

When it comes to the Majors, I'm pulling for Richie Fowler.   I would really like to see the kid get the Major monkey off his back.    I worked the practice areas at the recent Quicken Loans tournament.   On Wednesday afternoon, I saw a major crowd gathered near the club house off the 18th green.    When asked what was going on, it was Rickie signing autographs.   I noticed that regardless of the day or the time, when a youngster approached Rickie to have their hat signed, he stopped and signed it.    If one wanted to know where Rickie was, all they had to do was find and follow the crowd.

I like Mr. Fowler, he could win them all and I'd be happy.

It's time. My favorite tournament of the year. Maybe tied with the Masters, anyways. I will be getting up at 4:30 every day to catch some of the action. 'Twas the night before THE OPEN...

May be semantics but isn't it like 4 nights before The Open?

Either way, I'll be up bright and early with you. Go DJ!

Anyone putting Bryson DeChambeau on the radar after his win today? I don't know that I have him to win but he could make things entertaining if he gets a feel for the links style play.

Not sure about Bryson. DJ has been there for a week prepping... I'm sure a few others have too.

There is a sleeper in the mix that is going to surprise us all. I just don't know who it is.

How about a complete unknown from NZ, Ryan Fox? He has hit great form in the last few weeks and could shock the big boys. All though i would love to see Rickie win.

It's luck if there is no wind. Be another -20 tournament.

I think we can all agree no one wants to see that.

I get beat up on the golf course every time I play. I want to see those guys get beat up too. I want to see that winning score be over par!
