Myrtle Beach week of July 4th

Recommended Posts

My daughter has a dance competition in Myrtle Beach the week of July 4th.  The whole family is going and my wife is "allowing" me and my son to take our clubs.  We will get to play 2 days.  We can play Caledonia and True Blue for $180 total.  Anyone ever played them or have any other recommendations?  Never golfed in Myrtle Beach so not sure if there are better courses, but what I've read seems to be good.  Any help or thoughts are appreciated.

I just played Caledonia and True Blue this last weekend and they are both amazing. They are both ranked as two of the best courses in South Carolina. We are actually thinking about going back to play True Blue again on July 1st becasue we enjoyed it so much. A couple of other courses I enjoyed in Myrtle Beach were Kings North and the World Tour Golf Links. I've heard the courses at Barefoot resort are also great but have yet to play those. Have fun!

For a fun course, check out World Tour. Replica of 18 famous holes, from courses if you're like me, you'll never get to play.  TPC 17, Oakmont hole, amen corner, st andrews, etc.

Pretty good selection. The greens should be good now that we are getting some needed rain this week. The tourist season ran wild this year and some courses had to put off aerification and Verdi cutting and a lot of courses the greens were stressed out due to all the play this season. I know my home course Indian Wells punched and verdi cut last Wednesday and did not get any rain until Monday but those greens should be in great shape probably this weekend. Caledonia and True Blue are always in great shape

Exceptional courses, both of them. True Blue is actually my favorite in all the MB area.

I agree! You come up to every hole and think, "Wow, this hole looks amazing!"

Absolutely. Each hole unique in appearance and optimal play.

I owned a condo at Legends for 13 years. Loved their courses (Parkland from the tips is a bear!) yet every time down, I'd always look to also book a round or two at True Blue.

It was 10 years before my wife learned that True Blue was NOT affiliated with Legends, LOL....

Caledonia and True Bliue are amazing courses and the staffs are top notch! Caledonia might be the closest thing most of us will ever get to playing Augusta!
