I'm not sure it's a good idea to list all these, though I've done it before on other forums.  I'm not sure I even remember all of them.

I'll start with the list of what I currently own:
Mizuno MP-37
Mizuno MS-11
Ram FX Nickel Tour Grinds
Golden Ram TW276
Golden Ram TW282
Golden Ram Vibration Matched Tour Grinds
Golden Ram 1980 Tour Grinds
Golden Ram in oval (mid 70s) Tour Grinds
Ram TG-898
Pinhawk Single Length
TaylorMade 2011 Tour Preferred MC
Ping Eye2+
Ping ISI
Wilson Staff 78 Tour Blades
MacGregor Muirfields
Tommy Armour 986 Tours
Wood Bros blades (post-Wood brothers ownership clubmaker version)
Maxfli Revolution black dot

Now the rest of the stuff.  This is what I've had in the past, that I no longer own.  I will probably forget several, I may edit later.  Starting with the starter set:
Dunlop Airfoil (sporting goods store model)
Goldwin AVDP Oversize
Tour Edge Comp 950 Lift Offs
Goldwin AVDP Tour
Golden Ram Frequency Matched Tour Grinds (my first blades)
Wilson Staff FG-17
Wilson Staff Tour Blades (line under, from mid 80s)
Golfsmith Pro Forged
Golfsmith Professional Grind blades
Palmer Original Standards
Palmer Standards, 78-84
Palmer Standards, 1985 model
Powerbilt Scotch Blades 2276
Peerless PHD Tours
Golfsmith Tour Cavity Pro
Precept Tour Premium
Precept Tour Premium (yes, I've owned two sets, kind of have a thing for them)
Ram FX Nickel Tour Grinds (different set than the ones I currently own)
Ram FX Nickel Tour Grinds (have had two sets I unloaded, and one that's still here)
Mizuno MP-37s (different set than the ones I currently own)
MacGregor PMB
MacGregor PCB Tours
Tommy Armour 986 Tours (once again, different set than the ones I currently own)
MacGregor M85

And I'm running out of steam.  I may be missing a few.  Good thing it's not all the clubs I've actually hit, we could be here a while.

The worst part of all this?  I've only been playing golf for 21 years.  I didn't start until my 35th birthday, fall of 1998.

damn son!  haha

I’ve been playing golf for 55 years (with a 15 year lull) and only had four sets of clubs including irons:

  • 1964: some (brand-model forgotten) beginner set that only included 3i, 5i, 7i, 9i maybe a PW too?
  • late 60’s: MacGregor MT Tourney 2 thru SW (pic likeness below, my Dad’s hand me downs)
  • late 70’s thru 2017: Wilson Staff RM Midsize 2 thru SW, didn’t play at all from about 2000 thru 2016
  • 2018: Mizuno JPX900 Forged 4 thru GW plus S18 56.10 & 60.06 - added 2019: Mizuno MP-20 HMB 3i
  • m85sho82.jpg

The pic you posted is the 80s model M-85 remakes of the famous Colorkroms of the 50s

You'd be surprised.  Any model more than 5 years ago.  Usually lasted a full season.

Seriously the 62 FC-4000s have been in the family since they were new in 1962. My old man got them when he was on Macgregor Staff. That was the one set of irons he flat refused to get rid of. When he was on other staffs those sat in his bedroom closet in an old Spalding canvas carry bag. He would let me play them on occasion like when my Spalding Elites got stolen. Lets see I still have my original Ping Anser from 73 or so which was actually a shop demo. In fact I still have the putter it replaced which is an IM-5 Mac Ironmaster which is about 1966 vintage.

The first set I owned was a set of old blades that my brother bought me. I can't remember what brand they were, I just remember it was the odd number irons, 3,5,7, and 9. I actually used the 3 off the tee a lot and could hit it better than the persimmon driver that came with them.

After that:
Nomad Radial Sole 3 (hated)
TaylorMade Bubble Burner LCG
Cobra F8
Tommy Armour Atomic

The iron sets that I've kept:

1954 Wilson Staff DynaPowered (with MacGregor Tommy Armour Woods) handed down from my uncle.

1964 H&B PowerBilt Citation (first new set, high school graduation gift)

1972 Spalding Top Flite (an "almost cavity back")

1978 Spalding Executive (first with Lynx Predator "semi-metal" woods / Then with Maltby custom made persimmon woods; the Executive irons were an inexpensive big seller and more forgiving than the new Pings then making the scene--terrible shaft-over-hosel look, though)

1984 Wilson 1200 GE  (with TaylorMade original "Pittsburgh Persimmon" real metalwoods; again a  Ping-type iron that I liked better )

1997 Titleist DCI 962 (model with most rounds played on them--in my bag almost to the end with Titleist PT metalwoods)

2001 Kenneth Smith Royal Signet (irons and fitting were retirement gift from my union...I retired about a month after 9/11 at the age of 55; keepsakes hardly played)

2015 Hogan FW15 (got all excited about the no club numbers--didn't play well with them; was regularly in conversation with you guys then)

current  Mizuno JPX 919 Tour impulse purchase never played.
