Jlukes is right. They're more forgiving than they look but don't have the typical Bstone soft feel that even the DPF's had despite being offered the same year. The head is on the smaller side

Definitely a miss by golf digest there.

These are in line with Srixon 745, Titleist AP2, and Callaway Apex Pro irons.

Would you say that the DPF are a better purchase, considering that I love the forged feel?

Hard to say. Dfs look cleaner and are a bit smaller than the dpfs

Personally, after trying the dfs I ended up going with the Srixon 745s. More complete package of looks, performance and feel

Have you ever tried the j40 dpf?

Yes. If you liked the well known BStone soft Forged feel, I'd go with the DPF's. They're also more forgiving than the DF's.

I used them they were pretty good, wouldn't call them clangy but that soft feel from a hollow club like a Scotty Cameron hollow soft. Not as good feel as the j15 cbs.

Club head was smaller than I was expecting- which I liked and

Turf interaction was great.

No i would say it feels like a hybrid but maybe a little more hollow much like the Mizuno mp h4 or h5. And like those irons you get a little more distance vs cbs
