Not a huge fan of Bubba's, but he certainly seems lost. His concentration seems other places. I always thought him, from what I read anyways, a little disingenuous. He's always yelling at his caddie, and scowls, or when he played bad, "the course did not fit his eye". This is just personal, but I really don't like golfers or any athlete, when they always thank the Lord,God Jesus Christ for all the birdies they made. If, that's the case, then why don't they get mad at the Lord for the 3 double bogeys? That, being said, Bubba did step to the plate during the Ryder Cup. He didn't have a tantrum, when he wasn't a captain's pick. He embraced the Cup and the players, For, that I give him a thumbs up!!!!

His mind is somewhere else. I think he has lost all motivation - not sure if it's the young family or business interests. At some point he's going to start losing sponsors.

I think Bubba is my guy this year. curves the heck out the ball. Seems to have his temper under control. I heard a “Gosh Dog-it” and his game is back in order. Plus... he's got a left handed iBlade 2 iron, I bet the only one made.

That makes a lot of sense. That's about the time I noticed his subtle decline. That mixed with family, ball changes can cause problems. Also could explain weight loss.

Same here. I didn't see that interview - just saw the interview after his round on Saturday (when the birds photo bombed him). I know some people don't like him but I think he adds to the sport just like Rickie and others.

Peter Kostis just mentioned in air that the best thing Bubba did this year was switch balls. The other (Volvik) did not suit Bubbas game.

But they don't need to beat us. They need to beat each other.

 

Rick, my ears buzzed too when Kostis made that statement. He does too much crazy stuff with the ball to let a Volvik limit that. I guess he was thinking it might straighten him out from trouble but it really limited his workability. I remember when that announcement came out about him playing a pink Volvik. I immediately thought he was going to struggle with it. Not saying that's 100% the cause but it probably played a big role.
