GolfJunkie302
Anyone make their own yardage books for tournaments? Any good ideas for a DIY one? I have just been making mine out of cardstock and then using Google maps for hole outlines and yardages. Let me know if you guys have any great ideas! downlowkey
I've done a number of green mapping projects. My advice would be to start large with graph paper; the grid will help immensely with sizing consistency of various features. Take care to make very clear notes (penmanship). When you're done mapping, use a scanner to shrink your work down to a manageable size. Print, trim, bind and put it play. Good luck! Looking forward to seeing your projects! mrsmith123
I've done my own for any tournament where I'm not familiar with the course. During a practice round I will draw the shape of the green and note any ridges and pace off things. Otherwise I'll jot down landmarks off the tee box for distance. I cut out 9 sheets of thick paper that will fit into my score card holder and staple together. If the course has a cheap book I'll buy it too. Shankster
I just bought a few field notes, graphed paper. It's he perfect size. Working on one myself. Mostly notes of what club to hit with the wind conditions and pin locations and some sketches. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

DaveP043
]I made a pretty detailed book for my home club. I have access to computer drafting software, so I use that to trace satellite photos, then scaled them to size, and pulled scaled distances to various features. JAGolfore
I know I get blank books from go to caddie. They are really nice. And you get a score card holder with them. https://www.gotocaddie.com/product-page/my-caddie-pro-yardage-book Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy Driver: Callaway Rogue 9* FW: Sub 70 Pro 4 wood Hybrid: Sub 70 949 Hybrid 19* Irons: Sub 70 659 CB 4 - 6 Black 639 MB 7 - PW Wedges: Sub 70 JB - 50* 54* & 60* Putter: Odyssey White Hot #2 Ball: Titleist Pro-V1x Handicap index: +3.9 Instagram: joshandersongolf Twitter: @jacustomgolf
GolfJunkie302
I was looking at those. I just decided that they cost too much, so I've been making my own. I did try to follow that template, though. PlaidJacket
Here is a tutorial if you're inclined... http://zimventures.com/projects/golf-yardage-books/ I've messed with it before but didn't have the patience. But I bet if you asked Dave nicely he'd make you one like his for a couple of Grand! DaveP043
But I bet if you asked Dave nicely he'd make you one like his for a couple of Grand! Heck, I'd probably do it for a few beers, and a chance to make a friend and play a different course a few times. The problem is time, it does take a bit of work.
