Removing Taylormade hosel adaptors

Recommended Posts

I've tried several times before with my M2 driver to remove the adaptor without melting the plastic ferrule to no avail. Anyone had any luck removing the adaptor in a way that the adaptor can be reused on a different shaft?

I've tried Vasoline, torches and heat guns. Never can get enough heat to loosen the epoxy without melting the attached plastic part at the bottom of the adaptor. Any advice?

If you've got a shaft extractor and a good heat shield there's a chance, but it is slow work. Use a heat gun instead of a torch and direct heat to the tip instead of the sleeve. There's a good golfwrx thread if you Google your question.

Heat shield paste and wrap with a wet paper towel. Use a heat gun and keep pressure on it. As soon as it moves remove the heat, push the adapter off and immediately toss in a cup of cold water to quench the heat

Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Bomb and gouge. Yes, I'm a club gigolo.
