Got a sun mountain speed cart for $20 at garage sale,

But best would be the $1 for the Ping Zing 1 iron I make everyone use on hole #1 at my 3 club tourney

Late to the thread, but the best deal I got was $100 off my Epic. It's honestly had such a huge impact on my game now that I have control over my dispersion.

Love this thread and hope that while a fair share of us are quarantined we can add to it.

I recently picked up a set of mp-32 irons on eBay for 71.00 3-PW, Dynalite Gold SL R300 shafts ... which, actually, are a good match for me. A little light but I'll take it.

Used some Bar Keepers Friend to polish them up and woo-wee.... can't wait to get them on course.  😃

Full set of Callaway Diablo Edge irons for less than $40. Those things were point and shoot.

I stupidly sold them. Granted, I made great profit, but those things were perfect for my game.

When they first came out, I was looking at the Callaway CF16 irons. I was seeing new sets of 5-P in the $800 range. Went on eBay and saw a near new set of 3-PW, AW, SW for $695+$10 shipping. Seller was a golf shop in B’ham AL. Put them on Watch for about 30 sec., and hit BIN. Called seller. Barely used, Exc. cond. When they arrived they were even better than I expected.

Around 2002 when Ben Hogan was its original company, I found some brand new BH Apex edge forged irons for $375 online (MSRP abt $700 at the time) from a place going out of business. They were new irons for the time period. Might have helped I am left handed so finding a buyer is more difficult.

So my first good deal was more of a complete accident. I had bought a Cobra King LTD Black Driver for $75 on OfferUp. It was mint and I thought it was a great deal. Came with a UST Elements Chrome shaft. Well the see through "space port" somehow got jammed and the plastic cracked. I called Cobra, they told me to send it in.. well in return I got an F8+ black! I've since moved the Elements Chrome to my 4 wood and still game the F8+.

My second good deal was also an OfferUp find. Wilson Staff FG tour F5 irons 4 - GW. $125. They were absolutely mint! Came with TT DG XP S300 shafts. Some of the best playing clubs I've ever used! Good enough to force the Maltby DBMs out of the bag.. permanently.

It's like a much classier Craigs List.. 😛 Honestly, though, I've bought and sold so much good stuff through OfferUp. Definitely worth a look. I just stick to local dealing but they have it set up where you can ship and receive cross-country.

If you have an itch to try out any of Maltby's clubs, definitely don't sit it out. Maltbys aren't just golf clubs but an experience. It's being part of an exclusive club 😛 That doesn't cost very much money.

If I could go back and do 1 thing differently with the DBM's, I would probably get some heavier, lower flight shafts. Either TT DG S300's or KBS $ Tapers. I had the Nippon NS pro 950's.

The differences are subtle with the Tour FG's. Heel to toe profile is just slightly shorter. and they are a tad more forgiving. Feel is very similar with both. Forged soft goodness! I was initially looking at TS-1's and MMB-17's and was very close to pulling the trigger.. and just found the W/S's at the last minute.

My buddy just sold me his Callaway Forged RAZR X irons with the Nippon shafts in them for $200, slightly used.  I mean, they look brand new to me, with very little wear and tear.  And when you compare what I paid him for those irons to me spending $150 per iron (6 of them) for my PING G Series irons new from PING, I think you can do the math pretty quickly in your head at what I think of that deal; especially since I hit these Callaway's 10x better than my PINGs.  And man, they just look freaking sweet!

Aside from tournament prizes, I'm interested to see what gold people have come into through wheeling and dealing or right place right time.

Mine is a modest one. I sold an old driver and 3 wood on eBay and had enough to buy a newer driver, 3 wood, and hybrid without dipping into my pocket. Felt like a superstar when the boxes came rolling in.

Definitely when I bought my first set of good irons. Still playing them 7 years later. Cleveland 588MTs got them for 500 bucks year old and had only been used a handful of rounds practically immaculate for almost half price.

I’ve got a good one.

I live in a golf course community. We used to have a Callaway Performance Center/ Golfsmith  at our driving range. State of the art fittings, and trying the club on real grass after being fit in the studio.

Anyway, here’s my great deal... when the Apex CF16 irons came out, they were about $160 per club with the new recoil shafts. I got a 15% discount because I was a member. That was good, but then one of the “Golfsmith” guys I was friends with told me to buy some new, cheap clubs on eBay. As long as they had the sku number on the shaft, he would take them as trade for the price Golfsmith sold them at.

I bought a bunch of Taylormade Jetspeed hybrids and fairway woods, which were selling for $29.99 at the time from Global Golf and other big eBay sellers. Golfsmith was selling them for $129.99, that’s $100 more for each one.

i ended up with a set of the Apex with recoil shafts 5-aw, and two MD 3 wedges, all custom fit, retailing for about $1600 for just over $300. the store realized it, actually guided me through it,  and thanked me for my business!!!

If not for the PXG for Heroes program I never would have considered PXG, solely on the basis of price. Instead I found the best driver I have ever owned, and at a fraction of what the major OEM’s charge. If you are willing to buy older generation clubs, and you are a veteran, first responder or active duty service member you need to check them out.
