downlowkey
Liquidated 4 of my 5 push carts today. I kept them around for guests (like @TR1PTIK visiting the area) and they were taking up a lot of space along one wall of the garage. Seemed like a waste to have them collecting dust when every golfer in Denver is humping their sticks around on their backs. Well... they flew out of my garage within a few hours for $200 a piece - enough to cover half of my yearly membership at the local course. That may not seem like a great deal for a used Sun Mountain Speed Cart. But considering the current scarcity situation, if I was truly embracing the free market, potential buyers were all ready to offer unfathomable amounts to move to the front of the line. I was just happy to help four fellow golfers have more fun on the course. And although it’s not technically equipment, I feel like I’m getting a pretty sweet trade off for a year of unlimited golf. (don’t worry - all transactions occurred outdoors with proper social distancing and digital funds transfers) toehold57, Siamese Moose, STUDque and 5 others 6 2 Quote PXG___0811 X 9* - Mitsubishi Diamana s60 Limited X Cobra___S9-1 Pro 15* - Matrix Ozik XCON 7 S Adams___XTD Forged 3i - Matrix Ozik Program F15 120 S Adams___CMB 4-PW - Matrix Ozik Program F15 120 S KZG___Tri-Tour 50.08__54.10__58.12 - Accra iCWT 2.0-95i S Nike___Method Converge B1-01 (copper insert) Maxfli___'23 Tour X "The most important shot in golf is the next one“

Guests Guest Delete Posted May 11, 2020 Guests Share Posted May 11, 2020 I got a set of Titleist 735.CM irons 3-pw with stiff shafts for $67 including shipping on eBay. I already had 4-pw 1/2" over and was looking for a 3 iron to round out the set. I found those for less than just a 3 iron.

edingc
When I decided to get back into golf seriously in late 2018, I started looking for new-to-me irons to replace the circa-2004 Nike CCIs that I had been using since high school. It took me a few months to save up the $400 or so dollars I figured a set of 714 AP1s would run be used on eBay. I had been looking at the AP1s almost exclusively. eBay ran 10 percent off any purchase sometime just before Christmas 2018. Not sure why, but I happened to be looking at a set of used Wilson's C200s and was going back to MGS for review reference and decided to see what a set of C300s (newer model) would run. Just so happened that Diamond Tour Golf was selling a demo set of C300s for $300, and with the coupon I got a 4-GW set for $270 delivered. The irons were basically brand new, and would have been $800 if purchased new from my local shop. The first time at the range I lost the cavity badge on my 5-iron. I contacted DTG because Wilson would warranty demo clubs, and Jason (being the awesome owner he is) put me in contact with his Wilson rep who took care of me. Two months later, I had multiple badges fall out and Wilson decided to replace the entire set. Last fall, the badge on the replacement 5-iron came out again. Wilson originally said they would repair the club so I sent it back to them. After about two months of back and forth with customer service, they finally just said they would replace the irons with a brand new set of Wilson D7s. I knew at that point I wanted Maltby PTMs, so I sold the D7s and the partial set of C300s, which financed almost all of the cost of tools and materials to build my PTMs (including an iron shaft fitting!). Some work and grief involved, but it ended up being a pretty good deal for me. Siamese Moose
Back in the early 90's (IIRC) my instructor got me a cheap deal on a Titleist PT Mid driver, which worked quite well for me. I told him I was interested in getting matching fairway woods. He checked, and came back with, "I can't get the mids, but the regular PT's are available, and I think they'd be better for you as a fairway wood anyway." He ended up getting me two demo clubs, 3 and 5, for a total around $40. I don't know how many of you remember the PT fairways, but "that's what Tiger plays!" (This was just before the club became stupidly hot.) About a year later I sold them for over $300 each, and even got $200 for the driver. Still feel guilty I didn't buy my pro a bottle of whiskey! Hitnhunt
A little of both finding and working for it. I keep an eye out in thrift stores for what might be usable parts. Finding old TaylorMade or other clubs with Titanium shafts isn't too tough. Pull the Ti shaft, throw the head away, put a more modern head on it (typically higher loft at an overall length of around 43.5 to 44 inches) and when others try this "fairway finder", it's typically sold almost immediately. Not only do you have a nice club that most people will actually hit better than their newer offerings, but they frequently play better as a result, and their enthusiasm can bring more people into the game. Wins all around. aerospace_ray
Jwhite86
I recently picked up 3 sets of Mizuno blades (MP-32, MP-33, & MP-37) for under $125 each. About a decade ago I traded an old 60º wedge for a Nike driver. Paid $25 for the wedge, got $125 in trade-in for the driver PureStriker66 1 Quote WITB Driver: Titleist TSi2 9º w/ Diamana DF 60 TX 3 Wood: Titleist 915F 16.5º w/ Diamana Blueboard or Taylor Made 300 Mini 11.5º w/ Fuji Ventus TR Red Hybrids: Callaway Super Hybrid 17º w/ Tensei Orange Titleist 816 H1 21º w/ Diamana Blueboard or Srixon U85 w/ UST Recoil Irons (6-43º): Titleist T400 w/ DG AMT Red Wedges: 48º Vokey SM6, 54º SM8, 60º Tour Issued Hand Ground Vokey Putter: Titleist Scotty Cameron Newport Masterful Tourtype SSS CT A048277
