dadivots
I have walked off several times due slow play. Might be time for me to step up and join a club. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy Yep, cant do 6 hours and a club is on the horizon. My first course still had metal irrigation piping and when the lightning came we would just keep on, until a spot with some shallow pipe got zapped. After that it was last man to the barn buys. To this day on an older course when the weather is coming I will ask when the irrigation was last done. Just sayin...

revkev
Great replies - I will and have played through anything and everything but I stopped doing lighting when my uncle got hit about 35 years ago. He was playing by himself. Somehow it didn't kill him but it knocked him out, they found him out on the course over an hour later. He had hyperthermia because of the could rain. He almost died from that. The storm that I pictured was classic. It was quiet and heading the other way when it blew up, got larger and thus close enough to produce lightning close by. I see a lot of truth in there (fortunately not in my case) but it is hilarious. Oh and to the original question. I'll play in a light to steady rain. But downpours and lightning are no fun. bens197
In college I was playing one of the best rounds of my life. -4 after 8 holes on what was supposed to be a screw around day. We kept it light. No wonder I was playing well. Problem was, we teed off at 3:30. Dinner in college ended at 6:30. As any broke college kid can confess, it's hard to pass up dinner when you have already paid for it. To my friends amusement, I packed it up, took my par on 9 and we headed to campus. To me, the story is better than any chance of breaking the CR. TWar
Hmmmmm. I have walked off a few times. I find myself now during bad weather, watching my radar app on my phone to find out how serious the storm is and how long it might take to blow through. I was just in Rochester recently and a storm was coming through in waves. When it started to rain, I would find a tree (I know not the greatest idea) and wait for the wave to move through (watching the app) and then keep playing until the next wave comes.
