If you haven't already heard of Blood, Sweat, & Thread, I highly recommend you follow him on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/bloodsweatandthread/). He does some incredible work!

 

A couple of months ago, I reached out to him and asked if he would be interested in a special project. Thankfully, my idea was intriguing enough for him to decide to take it on.

 

For those who don't know, Portlanders have a unique appreciation of the old carpet that used to line the terminals at Portland International Airport. A few years ago, the Port of Portland decided to tear up the old carpet, much to the dismay of the fine folks of Portland, and replace. Soon after the carpet was removed, crafts and knick-knacks incorporating the old carpet started popping up all over the place here. 

 

I was able to get my hands on a swatch of the old carpet and sent it his way. I think the pictures speak for themselves, but he did an incredible job. I am so happy with how these turned out, and they have definitely turned some heads up here in the Pacific Northwest. 

 

I love the city that raised me, and I'm pumped to have a little piece of it on my bag.

I saw those on instagram, very nicely done.

 

I tried contacting them for a putter cover a while back and either my idea wasn't intriguing enough or he was too busy because I kept getting the run around and after a few months of contact I gave up.

It's just the one guy (Rich). It's his side gig, and with the popularity of his Star Wars series, I'm sure he gets hit up all the time. I think what helped my cause was I essentially gave him complete creative control. Basically just asked that the carpet be incorporated, everything else was up to him.
