As most guys around here (including me) will attest... taking a golfer from 100 to 90's can be accomplished rather quickly - dramatically; assuming the person is interested and willing. Going from 90's to 80's takes more effort and a lot of people can play in this range and have a great time all the time. However, and now that you've broken 80 you're screwed! You will never look at the game as you have before. You'll always and forever want to take your game lower. 80's is not where you know you belong. That's what will drive your skill level and enjoyment. And... heartache. Ask any of the guys around here whether they be scratch, low hcp., or guys like yourself. Going low is never low enough. Again, congratulations on your accomplishment. Now get back out there and repeat it. Yup- what he said... Next you'll shoot a 70 and then moan about a dumb 3-putt... Oh wait.... The rough was five plus inches at pine brook golf course in CLE. The green were slowish and with the rain the fairways were still soft not soggy. I had 2 three putts 1 penalty and no green in reg on par 3's. I scrambled and made it work today. I took my chances on par 5's and long par 4's and only pulled the DRIVER out once. I'm damn proud; now wait until Sunday when I can't break 100 my titlesist 915 hd 20.5* was my saving grace today off the tee. Progress is being made and so much more to improve.... thanks for letting me brag MGS my wife wouldn't listen.
