TSauer
I've stripped down and paint filled my MD3's, everything was a breeze, I'm just stuck at one point. The dang holes where the green dots are. I've got them stripped down, and I've tried paint filling them several different ways, but they never turn out just right. I've tried: • paint markers, but the end result doesn't make the dots appear full. • Testors paint mixed with some shaft epoxy I have so it would harden up. It ended up with a weird texture after it dried. • straight Testors w/out epoxy, but it didn't seem to dry up and harden enough to hold up. I'm stumped. Does anyone have any idea what I'd be able to mix up or use to fill the holes? This is what they looked like before I removed the paint due to it not hardening enough, and what I want them to look like in the end. This is where they are now, after several failed attempts and cleaning them up again. Kor.A.Door
It may be too thick to dry up quickly, either need to wait longer, or try to add some alchohol or paint thinner to the paint to make it thinner. You could try to do it in several coats and let it dry between each coat. I'm just throwing out ideas, rookie or one of those guys that do it all the time will chime in soon enough Lefties are always in their Right Mind

I may have to try the several coats in between if I can't think of anything else. null
Multiple thin coats are the key for filling the dots. Let each layer dry for at least an hour. Use a hair dryer to speed up drying

TSauer
I'm a rookie at this. How did you strip the paint off? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy Acetone works wonders. I went to the local Dollar General and picked up some fingernail polish remover that was 100% acetone, soak it in that or just use a rag and it comes right off. yungkory
What'd you use on the letters? I tried the sharpie oil based marker/pen and it looked great but didn't last long. I have some paint markers I have used for other projects, but wanted to give Testors a try this time. It's holding up great so far. Used a small brush and applied a generous amount to everything and wiped off the excess. I used paint markers for this project because I had to be precise(not sharpie brand). This was about a year ago and hasn't really been any fading. yungkory
I watched a video of the Callaway guy do custom MD3s and he recommended the Sharpie pens, don't know why it doesn't fade away like mine did. Maybe because I was filling the number on the sole of my clubs? Back of the iron doesn't make much contact with the ground, so maybe that's what is wearing the paint out? Yeah, I meant to say that part doesn't get much interaction besides club chatter. I saw that video too, I just didn't like the way the pens turned out with mine. Idk, it didn't appear that the port was full enough.. not sure if that makes any sense. I used a tiny dropper to put droplets of Testors into the ports. It worked perfect. Gonna try it again and see if letting it cure longer helps. Kor.A.Door
I used a bit of white under the color to make the color stand out a little more. I bought some tamiya clear paints that work nice. Prior to that I would borrow some nail polish from my Daughter in whatever color and that works really good, and has the brush already attached Lefties are always in their Right Mind
