Golfspy_CG2
Something occurred to me last night for the first time. Probably because I just went through a recent fitting where I was making sure I was still a midsize grip. I have always had my iron grips in midsize for as long as I can remember. But last night as I was grabbing a hybrid, with the stock grip, it made me wonder why I never considered getting a midsize grip for my hybrid, or driver, of FW or wedges for that matter. So those that have midsize grips, do you have throughout the entire set or just irons? What are your thoughts either way on the subject? Shankster
Good question... I get extra wraps on my wedges, but standard grips on everything else. Actually thinking about going to an undersized for my Driver. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy I believe i have gotten extra wraps before on the irons and wedges. it wasn't mentioned this time for the iron grips. That might be a thought for the wedges. I do know, I have a hard time getting a good full release on some shots, and have been told that smaller grips will help that and larger grips inhibit that. But have also been told by some fitters (not my current one) that the amount it affects it is very minuscule. I should really care more but haven't found that much difference Yeah, that's kinda my thought. Up to now, I haven't thought about it, and it probably isn't making a world of difference either way. But maybe something I'll think about going forward to try and keep them as close as possible. STUDque
Midsize top to bottom except for putter. Golfspy_CG2
Same grips on all my clubs, Golf Pride midsize. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy While in GG this morning I looked at all the grips. I really wanted Lamkin Z5 midsize with my mizunos but that wasn't an option. The Golf Pride I ordered as stock will be fine for the testing. But I may get these lamkin z5 midsize on my hybrids and wedges to try and get them all the same size. Kenny B
All clubs are the same, but some are different. I sometimes swap out my Ping i20 irons for my MacGregors. The Macs have new Pure DTX grips, same as all the other clubs. The Pings have older PurePro grips, but they are all standard. I have tried both standard and midsize Pures. I actually like them both and can play them both, but don't mix them. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
EthanSterlingPrice
I use the same midsize grips on everything but my driver but that's just because I'm hitting the club well right now with the stock grip. I'll change it out soon though due to wear and put a midsize on it too. My thought process is having consistent feel through the bag to try and help eliminate extra variables but I know a few good golfers who have different grips from long to short irons so it's really whatever gets the job done.
