ole gray
I found an interesting thing while testing the Matrix shaft in my Cobra driver. The shaft came with a standard size grip so I changed it to Jumbo for my testing. It made a noticeably difference (not good) in the performance and swing weight of the total club. Amazing that the weight of a grip could alter the swing weight and performance/feel of a club that much. I had three layers of tape added under the grip which added a bit more heft to it. I've got to change this to a midsize (my norm) with standard wrap. I was hammering the heck out of the club prior to the jumbo being put on so my advice, after this little experiment is be mindful that larger grips with added tape can in fact lower swing weight. In my case it was a game changer so lesson learned. Sure you can add lead tape to offset the Jumbo but it's still a guessing game. I asked my fitter about it. If i should be worried about that. He said it will alter the SW a bit. But probably not enough for me to notice it. However that was just midsize and no extra wraps. Not a jumbo with extra. Once I put a midsize with one wrap my swing weight came back close to stock. Only one strip of lead tape and my Cobra F6 was back at D3. Jiro
I like having the same grips on all my clubs but I can see going different on driver, woods, hybrids since they already feel so different. PMookie
Definitely the same size throughout the set, all clubs. I'm a midsize plus 2 wraps and I do my own grips. I would seem to think it would be a little odd to have different sizes throughout the set.
